Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of depression in patients with chronic coronary syndrome by using a standardized depression scale and to examine the association of depression with 3-year cardiovascular mortality and all-cause mortality in patients with chronic coronary syndrome. Methods:This study used a cohort study design based on 376 patients hospitalized at Yan’an University Hospital between November 2019 and November 2021 who met the criteria for a diagnosis of chronic coronary syndrome and completed the PHQ-9psychometric scale assessment. The study collected data on their questionnaires, physical examinations and biochemical laboratory tests and conducted a uniform telephone follow-up of previously enrolled patients in December 2022.We used Empowerstats to compare the differences in depression among patients with different depressive states and to preliminarily analyze the relationship between depressive state and 3-year cardiovascular mortality and all-cause mortality in patients with chronic coronary syndrome. Results:A total of 359 patients were included in the study,of whom 255(71.03%)were male and 104(28.97%)were female, with a mean age of 69.27 years,293(81.26%)were hypertensive and 204(56.82%)were diabetic.According to the PHQ-9 scale, the number of depression degree subgroups without depression and depression was 245 and114,respectively.There were upper significant differences in general clinical information, and the characteristics of the population in depression were more likely: younger age, female, poorer cardiac function, and less frequent use of statins. When cardiometabolism-related biomarkers were compared between groups with different levels of depression,TC and C-reactive protein differed between groups with different levels of depression, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The overall survival rates of 359 patients with chronic coronary syndrome were 0.94 for one-year survival,0.89 for two-year survival, and 0.84 for three-year survival.among patients with chronic coronary syndrome without depression, the one-year survival rate was 0.97,the two-year survival rate was 0.93,and the three-year survival rate was 0.89.among patients with chronic coronary syndrome with depressive status, the one-year survival rate was0.87,the two-year survival rate was 0.80,and the three-year survival rate was 0.73.Moreover,depression status was consistently positively associated with the risk of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality in patients with chronic coronary syndrome in all Cox regression models. Conclusion:It is not uncommon for patients with chronic coronary syndromes to be in a depression(34.1%).Depression is associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular death in patients with chronic coronary syndromes, and this trend may be more pronounced in men or older adults.
