Objective: Perioperative hypothermia is very common in the operating room.Intraoperative hypothermia is firstly caused by the increase of heat loss during operation, and secondly by the destruction or disorder of the thermoregulation mechanism caused by narcotic drugs.Hypothermia will not only destroy the patient’s homeostasis during the operation, but also cause many postoperative complications, such as incision infection, delayed healing of incision, prolonged awakening time, chills and agitation after awakening.Inflatable thermal blanket is a kind of high convection air heating device, which helps to keep the patient warm in the operating area and keep a proper temperature around the patient’s body to ensure the safety of the operation and improve the prognosis.Although some studies have fully proved the ability of inflatable thermal blanket to maintain normal body temperature,it is not clear whether this technology will lead to a net increase or decrease in hospitalization expenses.Perioperative hypothermia is more likely to occur in patients undergoing radical surgery for gastrointestinal tumors because of their long operation time and older age.In view of this, the purpose of this study is to explore the influence of inflatable insulation blanket on hospitalization expenses and hospitalization time of patients undergoing gastrointestinal tumor surgery, and to provide some reference for improving medical quality. Methods: From December 2021 to December 2022,100 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy under general anesthesia in the Affiliated Hospital of Yan ’an University were randomly divided into control group(n=50)and experimental group(n=50).All patients received standardized anesthesia. The control group used conventional thermal insulation method without special intervention, while the experimental group used inflatable heating blanket for thermal insulation. The general data, incidence of intraoperative hypothermia, medication and fluid infusion, duration of operation and anesthesia, postoperative PACU resuscitation, postoperative complications, hospitalization days and hospitalization expenses of the two groups were observed and recorded. The main result was related to perioperative expenses. Results: 1.There was no statistical difference between the experimental group and the control group(P > 0.05);2.Compared with the control group, the incidence of hypothermia in the experimental group was lower(P < 0.05).3.Compared with the control group, the recovery time and PACU stay time of the experimental group were shorter, the recovery score was higher and the incidence of chills was lower(P < 0.05).4.The postoperative drainage volume, indwelling time of drainage tube and infection rate in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group(P <0.05).5.Compared with the control group, the observation group had shorter hospitalization days and less hospitalization expenses(P < 0.05).Conclusion: For patients undergoing laparoscopic radical surgery for gastrointestinal tumors under general anesthesia, the application of inflatable thermal blanket during the operation is beneficial to maintain the body temperature during the operation, improve the comfort and satisfaction of patients, and most importantly, reduce the hospitalization days and expenses of patients.
