Objective: To explore the expression of circular RNA(circ RNA)in peripheral blood in white matter damage(WMD),analysis its clinical significance in preterm infants with WMD.Methods: Premature infants with gestational age less than 32 weeks or birth weight less than 1,500 g were selected between January 2021 and October 2021 from Zhongda Hospital,Southeast University.Blood samples were obtained within 72 hours after birth and within 24 hours of confirmed WMD.The levels of circ RNA were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).According to the results of cranial imaging,all included premature infants were divided into WMD group and non-WMD group(Control group).Neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA)was used to assess the neurobehavioral behavior of children with brain injury.And then,children with WMD were divided into normal prognositic group and poor prognositic group basedon the results of NBNA in 40 weeks of correcting gestational age.What’s more,the differences in circ RNA levels between WMD group and Control group,between low-risk group and high-risk group were implemented.The early predictive value of circ RNA in WMD and its correlation with neuroprognosis were lastly analyzed.Results:(1)The incidence of WMD in preterm infants is related to the gestational age(GA),birth weight(BW),gender and Apgar score.(2)Within 72 h of birth,the level of hsa_circ_0001868 and hsa_circ_0000591 in WMD group were significantly higher than those in the Control group.And the area under the curve of hsa_circ_0001868 within 72 h of birth was 0.6795(95% CI: 0.5646 to 0.7944;P<0.05).(3)The change of hsa_circ_0001868 expression level in WMD was earlier than diagnosis of imaging examination.(4)Compared with low-risk group,the expression of hsa_circ_0001868 levels whole blood of high-risk group within 72 h after birth was increased(P<0.05).Conclusion: The expression of hsa_circ_0001868 in peripheral blood hsa clinical predictive value for preterm infants with WMD.
