Association Study Of ZC3H11B And MTOR Gene Polymorphisms With Myopia In Xinjiang Uyghur Population

Objective:The ZC3H11B and MTOR genes have been previously reported to be associated with axial length(AL),corneal curvature(CC)and myopia.This study will look at how the ZC3H11B and MTOR genes’single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)relate to myopia and myopic severity in Xinjiang Uyghur population,providing a basis and direction for future genetic diagnosis and treatment of myopia in Xinjiang Uyghur population.Methods:A case-control study was conducted in 489 Uygur subjects,including 233 myopic subjects and 256 control subjects.Genomic DNA was extracted from 5 ml peripheral blood of the subjects.The tag SNPs rs4373767 and rs74225573 were genotyped by im LDR~?multiplex SNP typing typing technique.Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(HWE)test and statistical analysis were performed to compare the genotype and allele frequencies of the two SNPs rs4373767 and rs74225573 between myopia group and control group and between different degrees of myopia group and control group.The results of this test and analysis were then extended in multiple conventional genetic models to infer their association with myopia and myopic severity in Xinjiang Uyghur population.Results:The genotype distributions of rs4373767 in ZC3H11B gene and rs74225573 in MTOR gene were all in accordance with the HWE test.However,there were no significant distinction in the genotype and allele frequencies of the two SNPs between Uyghur myopia and control groups or between different degrees of myopia and control groups under four or five genetic models,regardless of whether sex and age were corrected(P>0.05).Conclusion:The rs4373767 of ZC3H11B gene and rs74225573 of MTOR gene were not significantly associated with myopia and myopic severity in Xinjiang Uyghur population.
