Objective:To study the incidence and clinical characteristics of congenital urogenital malformations combined with congenital microtia, transverse comparison of a variety of data and analyze the correlation between the two diseases. And review literatures to expand the understanding of congenital microtia and congenital genitourinary malformation, and provide a guidance of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the patients. Methods:There are totally 3143 microtia patients through retrospective analysis from January 2015 to December 2019 in The Second Center of External Ear Reconstruction,Plastic Surgery Hospital. We examined their renal ultrasound or abdominal CT and count the cases with congenital genitourinary system deformities. And we analysed the incidence of patients with microtia combined with congenital genitourinary malformation, the side correlation between the affected ear and urogenital deformities and the clinical characteristics of the disease. Results:Among 3143 patients with congenital microtia, there are 163 patients with congenital genitourinary system malformations, accounting for 5.2%.Through data analysis, the degree Ⅱ microtia is the most, and hydronephrosis, renal cysts and testicular deformity account for high scale. What’s more, the side of congenital microtia is associated with the side of congenital genitourinary malformations. Conclusions:In patients with congenital microtia, the incidence of genitourinary malformations is higher than the general population, and they both are more likely to be ipsilateral. There may be a common origin in the causes between the two diseases.Such patients can be diagnosed through physical examination, renal ultrasound and abdominal CT,so that we can care kidney function in the subsequent treatment. Therefore,we believe that it is necessary to complete the systemic physical examination, renal ultrasound examination and abdominal CT examination for patients with congenital microtia.
