| PartⅠ Application Value of Conventional MRI in Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia Brain InjuryObjectiveTo explore the value of the classification and ratio of signal intensity with conventional MRI in evaluation on the brain injury of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia(NHB).Materials and MethodsTotally 58 neonates(gestational age≥35 weeks)with NHB clinically confirmed were retrospectively analyzed and divided into mild-moderate group(n=41)and severe group(n=17)according to the peak level of total serum bilirubin(TSB).Meanwhile,18non-NHB neonates(gestational age≥35 weeks)with other diseases were selected as controls. The differences of conventional MRI qualitative parameters(signal intensity classification)and quantitative parameters(signal intensity ratio to the putamen(P)and thalamus(T))of globus pallidus(GP)and subthalamic nucleus(STN)among three groups were compared. The correlations between each signal intensity ratio and postnatal age at MRI examination were analyzed.ResultsThe T1WI signal intensity ratio of GP/P,GP/T,STN/P and STN/T were negatively correlated with postnatal age at MRI examination among three groups(r=-0.507,-0.641,-0.459,-0.622,all P<0.001).No significant difference of the rest of parameters was found among three groups(all P>0.05).Conclusions1.Symmetrical T1WI high signal intensity at bilateral globus pallidus and subthalamic nucleus of neonates is a transient phenomenon instead of a characteristic sign of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia brain injury.2.The value of the classification and ratio of signal intensity with conventional MRI in evaluation on the brain injury of NHB is relatively limited.Part Ⅱ ADC Histogram of Monolayer Whole Brain Area in Evaluation on the Brain Injury of Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia. Objective To explore the value of ADC histogram of monolayer whole brain area in evaluation on the brain injury of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia(NHB).Materials and Methods Totally 58 neonates(gestational age≥35 weeks)with NHB clinically confirmed were retrospectively analyzed and divided into mild-moderate group(n=42)and severe group(n=16)according to the peak level of total serum bilirubin(TSB).Meanwhile,18 non-NHB neonates(gestational age≥35 weeks)with other diseases were selected as controls.Image J software was used to delineate the whole brain area at the bilateral globus pallidus level as ROI,and SPSS 26.0 software was used to obtain ADC histogram parameters, including the 5th-95 th percentile,ADCmean,ADCpeak,ADCmin,ADCmax, skewness, kurtosis and variance. The differences of parameters among three groups were compared.Result No significant difference of parameters was found among three groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion The value of ADC histogram of monolayer whole brain area in evaluation on the brain injury of NHB is limited. |
