ObjectiveThe main purpose of this study is to clarify the level of experience avoidance, patient activation and benefit finding of maintenance hemodialysis patients.Meanwhile,in this study we could explore the correlation between three of them,so as to help maintenance hemodialysis patients with reducing the level of avoidance, coping with diseases actively and improving their quality of life after them got ill.MethodsIn this study,we used the convenient sampling method so 200 patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in the First Hospital of Dalian Medical University from November 2021 to March 2022 were selected. The general information questionnaire,Patient Activation Measure 13,Acceptance Action Questionnaire II,Benefit Finding Scale were used for investigation. And SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24.0 software were used for data analysis and model establishment. The statistical methods including descriptive statistical analysis, single factor regression analysis, spearman correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and Bootstrap mediation effect test and so on.P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant.Results1.The total score of experiential avoidance was(23.74±6.36).2.The total score of patient activation was(32.08±4.04),the score of cognitive dimension is(5.87±0.95),the score of skill dimension is(15.13±2.89),the score of action dimension is(7.08±1.43)and the score of belief dimension is(4.01±1.12).3.The total score of benefit finding was(50.46±9.49),the dimensions of acceptance, family relations, worldview, personal growth, social relations and health are(9.23±2.25),(5.27±1.92),(6.87±2.41),(14.25±3.31),(8.15±2.21)and(6.69±1.96)respectively.4.The results of univariate analysis in this study showed that there were significant differences in experiential avoidance, such as different education levels and personal hobbies(P<0.05).5.In this study, the total score and dimensions of patient activation and benefit finding in maintenance hemodialysis patients were both negatively correlated with experience avoidance.6.The results of multiple linear regression analysis in this study show that six items in patients’ general information, such as education level, family monthly income and hemodialysis time, personal hobbies, the score of patient activation and the score of benefit finding, enter the regression equation, which jointly explained 56.7% of the score of experience avoidance(P<0.05).7.Mediating effect results showed that benefit finding partially mediated the experience avoidance and patient activation, which accounted for 34.43% of the total effect.8.In this study, the fitting indexes of the AMOS model between experience avoidance of maintenance hemodialysis patients and patient activation and benefit finding are all within the acceptable range, and the fitting degree of the model is good and acceptable.Conclusions1.The level of experience avoidance of maintenance hemodialysis patients in this study is high, but the level of patient activation and benefit finding needs to be improved.2.The experience avoidance level of maintenance hemodialysis patients in this study is influenced by different ages, education levels, family per capita monthly income and different dialysis times.3.The total score and dimensions of patient activation and benefit finding in maintenance hemodialysis patients were both negatively correlated with experience avoidance.4.The experience avoidance level of maintenance hemodialysis patients is influenced by patient activation and benefit finding,at the same time, the influence of patient activation on the experience avoidance of maintenance hemodialysis patients is partly mediated by benefit finding.
