| Objective To treat patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)combined with Sarcopenia(SP)by using the combination of massage and Zengji Xiaoke Decoction,and to observe the improvement of blood glucose and the effects on muscle strength,muscle function and body mass index in patients with this combination.Methods In this study,66 patients with spleen and kidney deficiency type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with sarcopenia admitted to our hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were included.The patients were divided into treatment group and control group according to the principle of randomized control,among which 2 patients were lost,4 investigators were excluded,and 60 patients were finally included.The control group was given basic treatment and anti-blocking training;the treatment group was given basic treatment and anti-blocking training,plus muscle building and Zengji Xiaoke Decoction combined with massage treatment.All treatment cycles were 12 weeks.General baseline data such as gender,age and duration of disease were collected from the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with sarcopenia,and the changes in fasting blood glucose(FPG),glycated haemoglobin(HbA1c),calf circumference,grip strength and gait speed were measured before and after treatment,and calculate the corresponding body mass index(BMI)for comparison.Safety indicators were also monitored in both groups:routine blood,urine,liver and kidney functions.Results 1.A total of 60 patients were enrolled in this study.FPG and HbA1c in the treatment group improved compared to before treatment,statistically significant(P<0.01);FPG and HbAlc in control patients also improved compared with(P<0.05);meanwhile,the between-treatment comparison between the two groups showed that FPG and HbAlc in the treatment group improved better than those in the control group(P<0.05).2.The grip strength,step speed and calf circumference improved significantly compared with those before treatment,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);Control grip strength,step speed and also improved in calf circumference than before treatment,There was a significant difference before and after treatment(P<0.05);Post-treatment group comparison between two groups of patients with type 2 diabetes with sarcopenia showed,The treatment group was better to the control group in enhancing grip strength and step speed(P<0.01),result display,Musmuscle soup with massage therapy,Effect on increasing grip strength and increasing step speed,Better than the resistance training alone;However,the intergroup comparison between the two groups after treatment showed that,In terms of calf circumference improvement,No significant difference in the two groups(P>0.05),result display,There was no significant effect on the growth of skeletal muscle mass.3.The BMI in the treatment group was statistically significant(P<0.01);the control BMI was statistically significant(P<0.01);however,the post-treatment groups showed no difference in the BMI between the two groups(P>0.05).It showed that compared with the massage therapy,the results showed that the BMI could not be improved compared with the resistance training;After a 12-week clinical treatment,The TCM symptom points in the treatment group,Compared with that before treatment,Significant difference(P<0.01),The patient’s symptoms have improved significantly;And the TCM syndrome score points of the patients in the control group,Also significantly higher than before treatment,There was a significant difference between the front and back periods(P<0.01);at the same time,The comparison between the two groups after treatment showed that,In terms of TCM symptom integration,The treatment group with the combination therapy was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01).The response rate of TCM symptoms in the treatment group was 83.33%,compared with 53.33%in the control group.The comparison between the two groups after treatment showed that the treatment group improved significantly over the treatment group,and the analysis was significantly different(P<0.05).4.There were no abnormal blood,urine,liver and kidney function indicators in both groups before and after treatment,and there were no significant toxic side effects and no serious adverse events.Conclusion The combination of muscle enhancement and Zengji Xiaoke Decoction with massage treatment can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of Chinese medicine in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with sarcopenia,effectively reduce fasting blood glucose and glycated haemoglobin levels,increase grip strength and gait speed compared with those before treatment,and enhance and improve muscle strength and muscle function of patients. |
