Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis With "Bitong Formula" Acupoint Application Combined With Acupuncture

Objective:By comparing the difference of clinical efficacy of "Bitong Formula" acupoint application combined with acupuncture and conventional acupuncture in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis,the superior effect of this combination therapy was confirm ed,and evidence-based medical evidence was provided for the clinical application of "bitong formula"acupoint application in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods:72 patients with knee osteoarthritis recruited from the outpatient department of Traditional Chinese Medicine External Treatment Center of Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Chinese Medicine were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method.The observation group was treated with "bitong formula"acupoint application combined with acupuncture treatment,and the control group was treated with routine acupuncture treatment,with 36 cases in each group.WOMAC score,VAS score and AIMS2-SF score were compared before treatment,after treatment and during follow-up period,and the therapeutic effect was evaluated by statistical analysis.Results:1.WOMAC score and VAS score:Intragroup comparison:The total score of WOMAC,WOMAC classification scores and VAS scores of the two grouPs after treatment and during follow-uP Period were statistically significant comPared with those before treatment(P<0.05).Both treatments could significantly improve the overall symptoms and Pain degree of knee osteoarthritis,and had better short-term and long-term efficacy.There was no statistical significance in the follow-up Period of the observation group compared with after treatment(P>0.05),while there was statistical significance in the control group compared with after treatment(P<0.05).The curative effect of the observation group could be maintained for a long time,while the curative effect of the control group declined to a certain extent after treatment.Comparison between the two groups:After treatment and during follow-up period,the total score of WOMAC,the scores of various categories of WOMAC and the VAS were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).The short-term and long-term efficacy of improving the overall symPtoms and Pain degree of knee osteoarthritis in the observation grouP was better than that in the control group.2.AIMS2-SF Score:Intragroup comparison:AIMS2-SF scores after treatment and during follow-up period were statistically significant compared with those before treatment in both groups(P<0.05).Both treatments could significantly improve the quality of life of patients with knee osteoarthritis,and had good short-term and long-term efficacy.The comparison between the observation group during the follow-up period and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),the quality of life during the follow-up period was better than that after treatment,and the quality of life in the observation group continued to imProve after treatment.The comparison between the follow-up period and the treatment Period in the control group was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the quality of life after treatment was better than that in the follow-up period,while the quality of life in the control group decreased after treatment.ComParison between groups:A IMS2-SF score between the two groups after treatment and during the follow-up period was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the observation group showed better short-term and long-term efficacy in improving the quality of life of patients with knee osteoarthritis than the control group.Conclusion:"Bitong formula" acupoint aplication combined with acupuncture can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life of patients with knee osteoarthritis,and the therapeutic effect can be maintained for a long time,compared with conventional acupuncture has better short-term and long-term efficacy.
