| Objective:In the previous phase of this project,data mining techniques were applied to explore the pattern of acupoint selection in acupuncture for the treatment of primary osteoporosis in China in the past 10 years,and to summarize the high frequency acupoints and common combinations of acupuncture for the treatment of this disease.The clinical efficacy of the core acupoints in the acupuncture selection pattern for patients with primary osteoporosis is now verified by observing the clinical efficacy of the acupuncture selection pattern.Methods:Sixty-six patients with primary osteoporosis who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,with 33 cases in each group.The control group was treated with lifestyle modification and bone health supplements,while the treatment group was treated with acupuncture on the basis of the control group.The core acupoints of the data mining results,bilateral Shenshu,Zusanli,Dazhu and Jiaji points,were selected as the main acupoints and acupuncture was performed every other day for 4 weeks.After the treatment,changes in bone mineral density(BMD),visualanaloguescale(VAS),Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score,body fat content,inorganic salt content,body mass index(BMI)and visceral fat grade were observed.Results:(1)In the intra-group comparison,the BMD values of both groups were higher than those before treatment,with no statistical significance(P>0.05);after treatment,the VAS pain score,TCM symptom score and body fat content,BMI and visceral fat grade in the body composition analysis report were lower than before treatment in both groups,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the single TCM symptom score in both groups decreased significantly after treatment(P<0.01).(2)The difference in BMD value,body fat content,BMI value and visceral fat class in the body composition analysis report were not statistically significant after treatment(P>0.05),the differences in VAS pain scores and TCM symptoms scores between the two groups were significant and statistically significant(P<0.05);comparing the six individual TCM symptoms scores between the two groups after treatment,the patients’TCM symptoms of low back pain,lower limb impotence,dizziness and difficulty in walking improved better after acupuncture treatment(P<0.05);(3)Comparing the clinical efficacy,the total effective rate of the observation group.The overall effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group at 87.1%,with a statistically significant difference between the two treatments(P<0.01).Conclusion:In addition to lifestyle modification and conventional calcium supplementation,the use of core acupoints in the acupuncture selection pattern can better improve the clinical symptoms caused by primary osteoporosis,and is superior in terms of pain relief,improvement of TCM symptoms and overall efficacy compared to lifestyle improvement and oral bone health supplements alone. |
