| Objective: Exploring the mechanism of efficacy of the method of resting wind, removing turbidity and clearing liao in the recovery phase of ischemic stroke(wind-phlegm blocking liao type)based on the theory of blood turbidity. Methods:Seventy patients(admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine)recovering from ischemic stroke(wind-phlegm blocking type)were collected between October2020 and October 2021 and included within 2 weeks to 6 months after the onset of stroke. The random number table method was applied to divide the patients into a control group and an observation group of 35 each. Both groups received the basic treatment recommended in the guidelines, and in the observation group,Scorpion San was given in addition to the standard western medicine treatment. After one month of treatment,pre-and posttreatment Nerve Impairment Scale(NIHSS)scores,Fugl-Meyer simplified motor function scores,Barthel Index(ADL)scores and self-administered Chinese medicine evidence scores were compared,as well as pre-and posttreatment lipids and blood rheology to evaluate the efficacy.Clinical efficacy was assessed using SPSS 27.0 software.Results:(1)A total of 66 cases eventually completed the trial according to the protocol(32 cases in the control group and 34 cases in the observation group);no adverse effects were observed during the study.(2)Before and after treatment, the neurological deficit score(NIHSS)scale score, simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function score,Chinese medicine evidence score,as well as the efficacy assessment of blood lipids and blood rheology of each patient before and after treatment were better in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01),while the difference between the Barthel index(the There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the Barthel index of ADL before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion: The patients in the study were all able to recover to a certain extent after treatment, and their motor function and quality of life were further improved, and their blood circulation and cerebral blood flow were significantly enhanced.Except for the improvement in ADL scores, which did not show any significant difference in the patients’ ability to take care of themselves, the observation group showed better improvement than the control group in all other aspects, confirming the efficacy of Scorpion San in the treatment of "wind-phlegm blockage" ischaemic stroke recovery. |
