| Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of smoking on the level of fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)in male patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Method:107 male patients with AECOPD hospitalized in the respiratory department of the First People’s Hospital of Huaihua City,Hunan Province from August 2020 to September 2021 are selected as the research objects. The basic information(age, height, weight, body mass index)and FeNO value before treatment, forced expiratory volume in the first second/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)and the percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second in the predicted value(FEV1%)are collected retrospectively. The patients are grouped according to the smoking index, namely 24 cases in the non-smoking group,10 cases in the light smoking group,18 cases in the moderate smoking group and 55 cases in the heavy smoking group.Data are analyzed with the help of SPSS 21.0.Results:1.The comparison of FeNO value and pulmonary function in each group shows that the overall difference is statistically significant(P<0.05);The FeNO value of the heavy smoking group is lower than that of the medium, low smoking group and non-smoking group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There is no significant difference between the medium, light smoking group and the non-smoking group(P>0.05).The pulmonary function of heavy smoking group is worse than that of the other three groups, and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).The pulmonary function of the light, moderate smoking group is worse than that of the non-smoking group, and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).There is no significant difference in pulmonary function between the light smoking group and the moderate smoking group(P>0.05).2.The smoking index is negatively correlated with FEV1/FVC(R=-0.219,P<0.05),FEV1%(R=-0.434,P<0.05)and FeNO(R=-0.450,P<0.05).3.The value of FeNO in heavy smoking group is positively correlated with FEV1/FVC(R=0.355,P<0.05)and FEV1%(R=0.412,P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Heavy smoking lowers the FeNO value of male patients with AECOPD.2.Smoking of different degrees worsen pulmonary function of male patients with AECOPD.3.For heavy smokers, the lower the FeNO value of male patients with AECOPD,the worse the pulmonary function. |
