Background:Atrial fibrillation is a common clinical arrhythmia that affects the living quality of patients.Radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA)is the most commonly used and effective treatment for patients with atrial fibrillation. However, the recurrence rate is high. The objective of this study was to identify predictors of atrial fibrillation recurrence after radiofrequency ablation.Early intervention for patients with a high risk of atrial fibrillation recurrence after radiofrequency ablation can reduce unnecessary injuries and avoid unnecessary medical waste.Small dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(sdLDL-C)is an emerging predictor of cardiovascular disease, however there are few studies associated with atrial fibrillation. Our objective was to investigate whether sdLDL-C has predictive value for atrial fibrillation recurrence after radiofrequency ablation. Methods:This study collected basic follow-up data of patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation of atrial fibrillation for the first time in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2021.Patients with atrial fibrillation came to our hospital for 12-lead electrocardiogram or 24-hour holter electrocardiogram at 3,6,12 months after surgery and when they showed discomfort symptoms to monitor the occurrence of abnormal arrhythmias. In this study, recurrent atrial fibrillation was defined as atrial arrhythmias(atrial tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation)occurring for more than 30 seconds after completing the surgery for 3 months.According to the occurrence of recurrent events within 1 year after radiofrequency ablation, patients were divided into recurrent atrial fibrillation group and non-recurrent atrial fibrillation group. The relationship between sdLDL-C and recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation was analyzed by statistical methods.Results:(1)Compared with the group without recurrence, the serum sdLDL-C level in the group with recurrence of atrial fibrillation was significantly increased, with statistical difference(P<0.05).(2)Logistic regression analysis showed that sdLDL-C was a risk factor for the recurrence of atrial fibrillation, with statistical difference(P<0.05,OR=2.759).(3)ROC curve analysis showed that sdLDL-C had predictive value for postoperative recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation(P<0.05).(4)Kaplan-Meier survival analysis curve showed that the recurrence rate of high sdLDL-C group was higher than that of low sdLDL-C group(P<0.01).(5)The serum sdLDL-C level in the relapsed group was correlated with the previous history of coronary heart disease and the type of atrial fibrillation. Conclusions:This study found that serum sdLDL-C level was a risk factor for recurrence of atrial fibrillation after RFCA,and had potential predictive value for recurrence of atrial fibrillation.
