Objective:The relative quantitative indexes of maxillary sinus floor in maxillary posterior region were measured by cone beam CT,and the relationship between maxillary sinus and root, alveolar bone was studied,it provides a new reference for the diagnosis and preoperative evaluation of the maxillary posterior region. Methods:From the CBCT database of department of stomatology in the affiliated hospital of north Sichuan medical college,1674 maxillary posterior teeth of 279 cases were selected, including 3906 roots, the relationship between the apical position of maxillary posterior teeth and the top of maxillary sinus floor was recorded by 3DImagingSoftware.The vertical distance from apical to the bottom of maxillary sinus and the height of alveolar bone were measured.Results:1 Among the 3,906 maxillary posterior roots studied, type I(54.17%)and typeIV(10.27%)were the most common, and the second molar mesiobuccal root was the most likely to be in close contact with maxillary sinus(59.14%).2 The distance between the root tip and the floor of maxillary posterior teeth was no difference between left and right sides and between sexes(P>0.05).The maxillary second molars were closest to the maxillary sinus floor(P<0.05),and the maxillary second premolars were farthest from the maxillary sinus floor(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the distance between the maxillary posterior teeth roots and the maxillary sinus floor and the age.3 The alveolar bone height of the maxillary posterior teeth were 12.10(9.40,16.10)mm,8.30(6.40,11.00)mm,8.75(7.10,11.20)mm.There was no difference in alveolar bone height between right and left sides and between sexes(P>0.05).There was a positive correlation between alveolar bone height and age in 28-37 and 48-57 age groups. Conclusion:There is a close relationship between the maxillary posterior teeth and the maxillary sinus floor wall.CBCT can accurately understand the anatomy of the maxillary posterior teeth area.
