BackgroundCaries in children is one of the common chronic non communicable diseases.According to the fourth national oral epidemiological survey, the caries rate of 5-yearold children in China is 71.6%,and the caries rate is 4.24.The study shows that the prevalence rate rises from the age of one year, reaches the peak of caries prevalence at the age of seven, and then decreases with the loss of deciduous teeth and the eruption of permanent teeth.7-9 years old is the peak of caries incidence, and children in this age group are the key population for caries prevention and control.Cariostat test is an experiment to analyze the activity of caries in caries risk detection system. It is widely used in various fields, including clinical evaluation of caries risk, microbial experimental research and epidemiological investigation.Streptococcus mutans is one of the main cariogenic bacteria, which has strong acid production and acid resistance.Cariostat reagent detects the acid producing ability of Streptococcus mutans through the culture medium,so as to judge the current situation of personal dental caries and the speed of its occurrence and development. It is an objective index to evaluate the activity of dental caries. It has high test sensitivity. It is suitable for kindergartens and schools. It can timely and effectively detect the situation and risk of dental caries,so as to take corresponding measures for primary prevention of dental caries, reduce or avoid the adverse effects of dental caries and improve the quality of life of the population.Objective1.Through oral examination to understand the caries situation of second grade students and its changes after one year, and observe the changes of caries of students;Cariostat reagent test is used to understand the caries activity of second grade students and their changes after one year, and evaluate their caries risk,so as to provide an important basis and evidence for us to better prevent and treat caries.2.Master the oral health knowledge, attitude and practice of students’ parents through questionnaire survey.3.Analyze the change trend of oral caries status, caries risk and oral health care knowledge, attitude and behavior, and explore its change law and influencing factors.Materials and methods1.In 2020,about 1000 second grade students were selected as the observation objects for oral health examination and questionnaire survey.2.In 2021,the students who had been examined in 2020 were reviewed for oral health, and the changes of dental caries were observed.3.The selected second grade students were collected with cariostat reagent for two years to observe the relationship between this method and caries examination results.Results1.In 2020,a total of 1162 sophomores participated in the first survey. The caries rate of deciduous teeth was 89.07%and that of permanent teeth was 18.76%.The caries of deciduous teeth and permanent teeth were 5.98 ± 3.96 and 0.28 ± 0.67 respectively. The analysis of related factors showed that the caries rate and caries rate of deciduous teeth of children from parents with high education level were low,and the caries rate of permanent teeth was low;Children who ate sweets more frequently had higher caries rates of deciduous teeth and caries, and lower caries rates of permanent teeth;Parents who have a correct understanding of oral health knowledge and attitude have lower caries rate and caries rate of deciduous teeth.2.In 2021,a total of 1083 third graders participated in the second survey, excluding students who lost their visits due to school transfer, sick leave and other reasons. The caries rate of deciduous teeth was 87.90%and that of permanent teeth was 25.67%.The caries of deciduous teeth and permanent teeth were 5.05 ± 3.42 and 0.47 ± 0.95 respectively.3.In 2020,the caries of deciduous teeth of students with different caries activity were different, and the difference was statistically significant. There was significant difference in the caries rate of permanent teeth among students with different caries activity. The more serious the caries of deciduous teeth, the higher the caries activity, and the difference was statistically significant.4.Linking the results of caries activity in 2020 with the caries examination in 2021,the difference between children with different caries activity in 2020 and deciduous dental caries in 2021 was statistically significant.5.Students with different caries activity in 2020 have different new caries after one year. The difference of new incidence rate of primary teeth was statistically significant, and the difference of new primary caries was statistically significant. There was significant difference in the new incidence rate of permanent teeth, but there was no significant difference in the new caries.Conclusion1.Parents’ educational background, sweets, oral hygiene behavior and some parents’ oral health knowledge have an impact on students’ primary dental caries and permanent dental caries.Oral health publicity and examination should be strengthened.2.Cariostat reagent can detect people with different risks of caries, and predict their future caries situation to a certain extent. The severity of caries is related to the activity of caries, and has a better evaluation of the current status of caries; The development speed of caries with different caries activity is also inconsistent, and the future prediction of caries has a certain accuracy.
