Anxiety is one of many common emotions, and appropriate anxiety can promote behavior. However, anxiety symptoms are common symptoms in clinical psychological diseases.A relatively persistent anxiety state occurs within a period of time, which will affect various physical functions and health conditions.Previous studies were mostly conducted on susceptible populations of anxiety disorders, that is,people with high trait anxiety. In the presence of threatening stimuli, people with high trait anxiety will be more sensitive, and for patients with anxiety disorders, generally With depression, its cognitive function has been impaired.Cognitive control is a psychological process that mobilizes cognitive resources in order to better complete tasks when there are competing tasks that consume cognitive resources at the same time. Many studies have shown that anxiety can affect cognitive control. The processing efficacy theory divides "efficiency" into operational performance and processing performance, and believes that the negative effect of anxiety on processing performance is greater than operational performance, and the higher the task’s requirements for working memory and cognitive resources, the effect of anxiety on processing performance and operational performance. The larger the effect, the more specific the effect of anxiety on these two aspects was not explained.Attentional control theory complements processing efficacy theory, and Eysenck et al.propose core hypotheses about the relationship between anxiety and central executive function, including the hypothesis that anxiety affects attentional control top-down through the attentional system. The background color is one of the important parts of the task environment. If the task background color is changed in the cognitive control task,it may cause differences in the cognitive control results under different background environments. This study will explore the effect of anxiety symptoms on cognitive control under different background colors.Experiment 1 conducted the Stroop paradigm under the condition of controlling the background color for college students to explore the influence of black and white background on reactive control in their cognitive control ability. The study found that for college students, the background color caused a significant difference in the correct rate of behavior and response time, indicating that white is more conducive to the subjects to respond in conflict tasks.Experiment 2 conducted the same Stroop paradigm under the same control background color for anxiety patients, but the results were slightly different from those of college students. On the whole, the performance of the subjects in the white background was better than that in the black background. The effect size at the time of response is more pronounced. At the same time, both experiments found that the trial of the opposite color performed better than the trial of the non-antagonistic color, which verified that the opson of the opposite color was inhibited and activated according to the theory of the opposite process, while the viseme of the non-opposite color remained Interfering inferences that hold true across background colors and anxiety levels.Comparing the results of the two test groups,it was found that the reaction time of the anxiety disorder patients was significantly longer than that of the college students without anxiety disorder, and the accuracy was higher than that of the college students, indicating that the anxiety of patients with anxiety disorder also made them feel anxious.Choose to mobilize cognitive resources to improve accuracy at the expense of reaction speed. This study mainly focuses on the relationship between anxiety symptoms, background color and cognitive control. In the experiment,we found that white background is relatively easy to mobilize cognitive resources, while for patients with anxiety disorders, most cognitive resources are consumed in improving response. In speed, the findings of the study deepened the understanding of the cognitive characteristics of people with anxiety disorders.
