Objective: SNP of the chemerin gene has been proved to be associated with a number of atherosclerotic diseases.The goal was to discover the correlation between serum chemerin level and chemerin gene single nucleotide polymorphisms with coronary artery disease(CAD)in the research.Methods:In this study,the population was selected as the research object in north of Guangxi,155 patients with CAD were accessed in the CAD group,and 118 healthy subjects were accessed in the control group whom matched with the experimental group in the contemporaneity.ELISA was served as detecting the level of serum chemerin in subjects with the CAD group and the control group.PCR-RFLP,Tetra-Primer ARMS-PCR and DNA direct sequencing were served as detecting the genotypes of chemerin gene rs17173608 and rs4721.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in chemerin level between the CAD group and control group form serum(P>0.05).(2)Divide the number of coronary artery lesions into groups,there was a significant difference in serum chemerin concentration between one-vessel coronary artery disease and two-vessel coronary artery disease(P<0.05).(3)The G allele of chemerin gene rs4721 increased the risk of CAD(OR=1.569,95%CI=1.038-2.373,P=0.033),while rs17173608 TG genotype and the dominant model(TG+GG)added the risk of CAD(TG vs.TT:OR=2.125,95%CI=1.163-3.883,P=0.014;TG+GG vs.TT : OR=1.958,95%CI=1.102-3.479,P=0.022),the association still existed after adjusting for age and sex(TG vs.TT:OR=2.119,95%CI=1.157-3.881,P=0.015;TG+GG vs.TT:OR=1.947,95%CI=1.093-3.467,P=0.024).(4)The subjects who carried with both rs4721 TG and rs17173608 TG genotypes had an increased risk of CAD(OR=2.765,95%CI=1.074-7.123,P=0.035).According to adjust for age and sex,the association still existed(OR=2.699,95%CI=1.045-6.972,P=0.040).(5)The genotypes of chemerin gene rs4721 and serum chemerin levels were different in the control group(P=0.028),but not in the CAD group(P>0.05).There was no correlation between the genotypes of chemerin gene rs17173608 and serum chemerin level in control group and CAD group(P>0.05).(6)There was no significant correlation between chemerin genotype with the number of coronary artery lesions(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)There was no association between subjects’ serum chemerin level and the incidence of CAD in the north of Guangxi,but there were associated with the severity of CAD.(2)The SNP rs4721T>G and rs17173608 T>G of chemerin genes were associated with the incidence of CAD in the population of northern Guangxi,but there was no correlation with the severity of CAD.(3)The interaction between rs4721 TG genotype and rs17173608 TG genotype of chemerin gene increases the risk of CAD in the population of northern Guangxi.(4)There is no association between the rs4721 and rs17173608 SNP of chemerin gene and the level of serum chemerin in the population of northern Guangxi,so it could not certify to be a predictive index of serum chemerin level.
