Objective:to analyze relevancy between AD influence factors and its severity as well as AD nail changes under dermatoscope in Northern Guangxi. Methods:The study enrolled patients seeking advice in the outpatient service department of Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University in accordance with inclusion criteria.Experienced dermatologists conducted a questionnaire survey among AD patients to collect fundamental information, medical history and AD influence factors exposure. Then,SCORAD was employed to evaluate AD patients. Finally,AD patients and healthy control groups were sent to have dermatoscope to have their nails imaged. All data were put under analysis using SPSS 23.0 statistical software.Enumeration data were checked with theχ~2test or the non-parametric rank sum test.Measurement data were checked with the t test or the non-parametric rank sum test.P<0.05 is considered statistically significant. Results:altogether 165 AD patients were included in the present study,in which 121 agreed to have their nails imaged with dermatoscope. In the meanwhile,121 healthy patients in the control group were also sent to have nails imaged.(1)In Northern Guangxi, the onset season of AD was the most common in winter,with61 cases(36.97%),the onset age was the most common in childhood, with 72cases(43.64%),and the onset site was the most common in upper limbs, with 44cases(26.67%).(2)In northern Guangxi,AD severity appears significantly related to sleep disorder(P<0.05)but not related to passive smoking, residence’s adjacency to the main road or industrial area, wallpaper decoration within house, carpet in residence, plants around house, house decoration within 2 years, regular sweep-up in residence, fond of stuffed toys, pet raising, maternal skin disease in pregnancy, regular inoculation, pregnancy period, way of delivery, dietary bias, swimming hobby, family history of allergy,or mental influence factors.(3)Dermatoscopic results concerning AD patients indicate compared with their counterparts in the control group, such patients have significant nail pitting and nail plate scale(P<0.05).On the other hand, intergroup in terms of such nail changes as melanonychia, leukonychia, the longitudinal ridge on a nail, periungual scale, nail fold angiotelectasis remain insignificant(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)In Northern Guangxi, the onset season of AD was the most common in winter, the onset age was the most common in childhood, and the onset site was the most common in upper limbs.(2)AD severity and sleep disorder are significantly correlated in Northern Guangxi, which may promote each other.(3)nail pitting and nail plate scale are two discernible features of AD patients under dermatoscope.AD nail changes across various age groups may differ, but such changes should be attached with due attention in clinical diagnosis.
