Objective:To provide a more effective treatment method for clinical practice by observing the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture combined with rehabilitation treatment for brachial plexus nerve injury.Methods:1.A total of 62 patients with brachial plexus nerve injury who met the inclusion criteria were chosen, and using the random number table method.31 patients from each group were divided into the control group(rehabilitation treatment)and the experimental group(electroacupuncture combined with rehabilitation treatment).2.Patients in both groups received dibazol tablets, vitamin B1 pills, and methylcobalamin tablets for two weeks as a foundation medication regimen.Based on this, the experimental group adopted electroacupuncture together with rehabilitation therapy, while the control group adopted rehabilitation therapy alone.According to the patient’s unique situation, the rehabilitation program included training in motor skills and sensory reconstruction. The patient trained once per day in the morning for 40 minutes before taking a short break. On the basis of the control group, electroacupuncture was added to the experimental group. The selected acupoints were Ningshen point,Baihui, the second line of the contralateral parietal lobe in the emotional Zone,C5-T1 Jiaji points on the affected side,Dazhao,Xinjiquan, anterior shoulder, arm squat, shoulder scorpion,Xiabai,Quchi,Quze,Shanglian,Qingling,Shaohai,Hand Sanli,Neiguan,Shenmen,Hegu,Houxi,Yangxi,Baxie. The "transcutaneous repeated acupuncture method" was used to treat the acupuncture points on the head;the other acupuncture sites were treated with the flat toning and flat draining technique, while Xinjiquan was treated with the lifting and inserting diarrhea approach. After acupuncture, the acupuncture points were treated with electroacupuncture with a waveform of sparse and dense waves(2/100Hz)according to the damaged nerve, and the acupuncture needles were kept for 40 minutes, twice a day.The patients in both groups were treated for 6 days with one day of rest.Four consecutive weeks is a course of treatment, and there were a total of three rounds of treatment.3.The function of the brachial plexus function,DASH-Chinese upper limb function, anxiety self-assessment scale, and visual analogue pain score were evaluated in the two groups before and after therapy. After therapy, the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared, and the efficacy was assessed using SPSS26.0.Results:1.After treatment, both groups’ poor upper limb daily activity ability was improved, and both groups’ DASH-Chinese upper limb function score reduced. The experimental group’s efficacy was statistically superior to that of the control group(P<0.05).2.After treatment, both groups’ mobility, sensibility, and muscle strength in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand were improved. The brachial plexus function score also grew in both groups. The experimental group’s efficacy was statistically considerably better than that of the control group(P<0.05).3.Both groups’ anxiety levels dropped after treatment, and both groups’ SAS score went down. The experimental group’s efficacy was statistically significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).4.Both groups’ levels of limb pain decreased after treatment, and both groups’ VAS score fell. The experimental group’s efficacy was statistically significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).5.Clinical efficacy analysis of the two groups revealed that, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),the experimental group’s clinical efficacy was higher than that of the control group, with an effective rate of87.10% compared to the control group’s effective rate of 70.97%.Conclusion:1.Electroacupuncture coupled with rehabilitation therapy for brachial plexus nerve injury can greatly improve patients’ impaired limb function, quality of life.It can also decrease pain and discomfort from the injury over the long term, and patients’ psychological stress.2.Electroacupuncture coupled with rehabilitation therapy had a greater impact than rehabilitation therapy alone in treating brachial plexus nerve injury.
