Objective:Objective To compare the efficacy of robot-assisted navigation internal fixation and percutaneous Herbert screw in the treatment of carpal scaphoid fracture. Methods:Fifteen cases of carpal scaphoid fracture in the department of Orthopaedics of our hospital from May 2018 to December 2021 were collected and divided into group A and group B according to different treatment methods.Group A was treated with robot-assisted navigation internal fixation, and group B was treated with volar percutaneous Herbert screw.Fracture was classified according to modified Herbert [1] :2 cases of A1,4 cases of A2,2 cases of B1,5 cases of B2,and 2 cases of B5.Among them,1 case of type A2,2 cases of type B2 and 2 cases of type B5 were treated with robot-assisted navigation internal fixation. The remaining cases were treated with volar percutaneous Herbert screws.Patient information was collected including:(1)general information: age and sex;(2)Surgical and postoperative information: fracture healing time, mean surgical time,X-ray exposure time, blood loss, visual analogue scale of pain(VAS),Mayo wrist function score(3 months after surgery),complications.SPSS23.0statistical software was used for statistical analysis of all observed variables. Results:There were significant differences between the robot-assisted navigation internal fixation group and the percutaneous Herbert screw group in fracture healing time, mean operation time,X-ray exposure time, blood loss and Mayo wrist function score(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences between the two groups in visual analogue scale(VAS)score(P>0.05).There was no statistical difference in age, gender and other general information between the two groups, and no serious postoperative complications occurred.Conclusion:Robot-assisted internal fixation was superior to percutaneous Herbert screw for scaphoid fracture in terms of operative time, intraoperative blood loss,X-ray radiation time and fracture healing time, and there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of reducing postoperative wrist pain.In general, robotic surgery is superior to percutaneous closed Herbert screw fixation for the treatment of carpal scaphoid fractures.
