Objective:The purpose of this study is to analyze the tongue characteristics of patients with high myopia and explore the relationship between tongue characteristics and ocular parameters in patients with high myopia by observing ocular parameters such as tongue image and BCVA,eye axis length,choroidal thickness,choroidal blood flow and the degree of fundus changes,to provide objective indicators for the prevention and control of high myopia in Chinese medicine through tongue diagnosis.Method:This study used a cross-sectional study method.Ninety-seven eyes of 97 patients attending the ophthalmology clinic of the People’s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine confirmed high myopia were collected.The patient’s tongue was collected and recorded through the Dawson Four Diagnostic Instrument-Tongue and Pulse Information Collection System for Body Identification.The BCVA(Log MAR),refraction(equivalent spherical lens),eye axis length,macular choroidal thickness,short posterior ciliary artery(SPCA)systolic peak velocity(PSV),end-diastolic velocity(EDV)and resistance index(RI)were collected from all patients and statistically analyzed.The data of peak systolic velocity(PSV),end-diastolic velocity(EDV),and resistance index(RI)were statistically analyzed.Results:1.General data:97 patients with high myopia in 97 eyes of which 37 eyes in 37 males and 60 eyes in 60 females,mean age(29.11±6.65)years,mean refraction(equivalent spherical lens)(-9.83±3.23)D.2.The results of tongue color:among all tongue colors collected in this study,the pale white tongue(35/97,36.08%),cyanotic tongue(28/97,28.87%),and red tongue(21/97,21.65%)were predominated.3.The results of tongue-shaped:among all tongue shapes collected in this study,in terms of tongue fatness,thin and small tongues were predominant(46/97,47.42%);in terms of the presence or absence of punctures on the tongue,the absence of punctures was predominant(67/97,69.07%);in terms of the presence or absence of cracks on the tongue,the absence of cracks was predominant(87/97,89.69%);in terms of the presence or absence of teeth marks on the tongue edge,the presence of teeth marks was predominant accounting for(79/97,81.44%).4.The results of sublingual veins:among all the sublingual veins collected in this study,in terms of length of sublingual veins,short veins(44/97,45.36%)and long veins(38/97,39.18%)were predominant;in terms of thickness of the root diameter of sublingual veins,fine veins(47/97,46.53%)and coarse veins(37/97,36.63%)were predominant;in terms of the degree of tortuosity of sublingual veins In terms of the degree of tortuosity of the sublingual veins,mild tortuosity of the veins(40/97,41.24%),severe tortuosity of the veins(37/97,38.14%)and moderate tortuosity of the veins(20/97,20.62%)predominated;in terms of the color of the sublingual veins,the veins were lavender(45/97,46.39%),purple-black(34/97,35.05%)and cyanotic(18/97,18.56%).18.56%)were predominant.5.The results of the analysis of the relationship between tongue color and ocular parameters in high myopia:the main analysis was performed on pale white,red,and cyanotic tongues.The BCVA of the three tongue color groups were analyzed by a nonparametric rank-sum test,Z=42.182;the axial length of the eye,the mean choroidal thickness of the macula,and the PSV,EDV,and RI of the SPCA blood flow parameters were analyzed by one-way(ANOVA)ANOVA,and the results showed F=27.416,20.438,101.637,29.226,and29.537;the degree of fundus changes The results of the chi-square test showedX~2=36.317;all P<0.05.The differences were statistically significant when comparing BCVA,eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,PSV,EDV,RI,and the degree of fundus changes in the SPCA blood flow parameters between the three groups(all P<0.05).The performance of ocular parameters in the light white tongue group was lighter than that in the red tongue and cyanotic tongue groups;among them,the performance of ocular parameters in the cyanotic tongue group was heavier than that in the red tongue group.6.The results of the analysis of the relationship between sublingual choroidal length and ocular parameters in high myopia:the sublingual choroid length was divided into three groups:short,medium,and long.A nonparametric rank-sum test was performed for BCVA between the three groups,respectively,with Z=12.778;a one-way(ANOVA)ANOVA was performed for eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,and PSV,EDV,and RI in the SPCA blood flow parameters,and the results showed F=12.114,12.263,12.273,12.126,and4.416;all of the above were P<0.05.Two The differences in BCVA,eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,and PSV,EDV,and RI in SPCA blood flow parameters between the three groups were statistically significant when compared between the two groups(all P<0.05).The performance of ocular parameters in the short choroid group was lighter than that in the medium choroid group and the long choroid group;among them,the performance of ocular parameters in the long choroid group was heavier than that in the medium choroid group.7.The results of the analysis of the relationship between the degree of sublingual choroidal thickness and ocular parameters in high myopia:the degree of sublingual choroidal thickness was divided into fine,medium,and coarse groups.A nonparametric rank-sum test was performed for BCVA between the three groups,Z=51.586;a one-way(ANOVA)ANOVA was performed for axial length,macular mean choroidal thickness,PSV,EDV,and RI in SPCA blood flow parameters,and the results showed F=35.037,21.595,120.176,38.038,34.245;P<0.05 for all of the above.The differences were statistically significant when comparing BCVA,eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,and PSV,EDV,and RI in SPCA blood flow parameters between the three groups(all P<0.05).The performance of ocular parameters in the fine choroid group was lighter than that in the medium choroid group and the coarse choroid group;among them,the performance of ocular parameters in the coarse choroid group was heavier than that in the medium choroid group.8.The results of the analysis of the relationship between the degree of tortuous sublingual choroidal travel and ocular parameters in high myopia:The results of the relationship between the degree of tortuous sublingual choroidal travel and ocular parameters in high myopia:The degree of tortuous sublingual choroidal travel was divided into mild,moderate,and severe groups.The BCVA of the three groups was analyzed by non-parametric rank-sum test,Z=44.457;the axial length,mean macular choroidal thickness,PSV,EDV,and RI of SPCA blood flow parameters were analyzed by one-way(ANOVA)ANOVA,and the results showed F=31.535,19.848,138.830,32.146,31.552;P<0.05 for all the above.The differences in BCVA,eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,and PSV,EDV,and RI in the SPCA blood flow parameters were statistically significant when comparing the three groups between two and two(all P<0.05).The ocular parameters in the mild group performed lighter than those in the moderate and severe groups,whereas the ocular parameters in the severe group performed more heavily than those in the moderate group.9.The results of the analysis of the relationship between sublingual choroidal color and ocular parameters in high myopia:the sublingual choroidal color was divided into the light purple group,cyanotic group,and purple-black group.A nonparametric rank-sum test was performed for BCVA in the three groups,Z=49.457;one-way(ANOVA)ANOVA was performed for eye axis length,macular mean choroidal thickness,PSV,EDV,and RI in SPCA blood flow parameters,and the results showed F=36.045,25.884,127.573,34.813,40.142;P<0.05 for all of the above.The differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05)when comparing eye axis length,mean choroidal thickness in the macula,and PSV,EDV,and RI in the SPCA blood flow parameters between the three groups.The performance of ocular parameters in the light violet group was lighter than that in the cyanotic group and the purple-black group;the performance of ocular parameters in the purple-black group was worse than that in the cyanotic group.
