Study On The Efficacy Of Yaotongkang Decoction Combined With Percutaneous Vertebroplasty In The Treatment Of Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures In Men

Objective:To observe the effects of adding yaotongkang decoction to conventional treatment after percutaneous vertebroplasty（PVP）on pain symptoms and bone mineral density and bone metabolism in male patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture（OVCF）.Methods:90 male OVCF patients admitted to our hospital from October 2019to December 2020 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using the random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.The general data such as age,medical history and duration of disease of the two groups were statistically analyzed to exclude the differences between the groups.In the control group,PVP was performed and anti-osteoporosis drugs such as osteotriol and calcitriol D₃ were routinely administered after surgery;in the treatment group,Chinese herbal soup yaotongkang decoction was added on top of the control group.The visual analogue scale（VAS）of pain before and 1 d,1 week and 1 month after surgery,Changes in bone mineral density（BMD）values and bone turnover markers—procollagen type 1 N-peptide（P1NP）and serum C-terminal telopeptide of type1 collagen（S-CTX）,preoperatively and at 1、3、6 months postoperatively.The clinical outcomes of the 2 groups of patients were compared at 6 months postoperatively.Results:There was no statistical difference between the general data of the two groups（P>0.05）,which was comparable.The total clinical effective rate of the treatment group was 95.56%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group（77.78%）（P<0.05）.The pain visual analogue scale（VAS）of patients in the 2 groups in each postoperative period were significantly lower than those before surgery（P<0.05）,and the pain visual analogue scale（VAS）gradually decreased with the extension of time（P<0.05）;1 week after surgery,the pain visual analogue scale（VAS）of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group（P<0.05）1d and 1 month after surgery,the pain visual analogue scale（VAS）of the treatment group were not statistically significant compared with those of the control group（P>0.05）.The BMD values of the lumbar spine were significantly higher in the 2 groups at each postoperative period compared with the preoperative period（P<0.05）,and the BMD values gradually increased with time（P<0.05）;the BMD values of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group at 6 months postoperatively（P<0.05）.At 1 month after surgery,the P1NP and S-CTX levels in both groups were significantly higher than those before surgery（P<0.05）;at 3 months after surgery,the above indexes decreased significantly in both groups（P<0.05）;at 6 months after surgery,the above indexes decreased further and were lower than those before surgery（P<0.05）,and the P1NP and S-CTX levels in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group（P<0.05）.Conclusion:The clinical effect of adding yaotongkang decoction after PVP for the treatment of male OVCF patients is obvious.It has positive clinical significance in relieving pain in the middle of treatment,improving the level of BTMs and increasing BMD values,and has the value of research promotion.
