ObjectiveTo evaluate the application value of three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging(3D-STI)in quantitatively evaluating the left ventricular global strain in recipients within12 months after kidney transplantation.MethodsClinical data including BMI,BSA,blood pressure, serum creatinine of 34 kidney transplant recipients were collected before operation,7 days,1 month,3 months,6months and 12 months after operation, respectively.Meanwhile, conventional echocardiography and 3D-STI examination were performed.Echocardiographic parameters [stroke volume(SV),Cardiac output(CO),Cardiac index(CI),left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular mass(LVM),left ventricular mass index(LVMI)] and 3D-STI parameters [left ventricular global peak longitudinal strain(GPLS),global peak circumferential strain(GPCS),global peak area strain(GPAS)and global peak radial strain(GPRS)] of recipients were collected. The changes of these parameters within 12 months after operation were statistically compared. The changing characteristic and application value of 3D-STI in quantitatively evaluating the left ventricular global strain in recipients within 12 months after kidney transplantation were evaluated.ResultsSV,CO,CI,LVEDV,LVESV,LVM,LVMI,GPLS,GPCS,GPAS and GPRS significantly differed at different time points from preoperative to within postoperative 12 months(all P<0.05).whereas,LVEF did not significantly differ at different time points within 6months after operation(P>0.05).GPLS,GPAS and GPRS trended to decline within postoperative 1 month, and increased later within 12 months after operation.GPCS did not significantly differ at different time points within3 months after operation(P>0.05),and increase later until 12 months after operation. Before the operation,GPLS,GPAS,GPRS were related to blood pressure;GPCS,GPAS,GPRS were related to LVMI(all P<0.05).Whereas,12 months after operation,GPCS,GPAS,GPRS were related to LVEDV,SV and CO;GPCS,GPAS were related to CI.ConclusionsApplication of 3D-STI may sensitively detect the changes of left ventricular global strain in recipients after kidney transplantation when no significant variations are observed in postoperative LVEF.Compared with conventional echocardiography,3D-STI may evaluate the changes of left ventricular global strain in recipients after kidney transplantation more accurately. |
