Objective The aim of this study was to explore the managerial experience on the nursing service in a novel type of medical care and nursing institutions through talking with the managers of the former institutions,and to know the feelings and needs of managers during their work time,to reveal how the managers of medical and nursing institutions deal with the problem of nursing service quality management and excavates the significance behind their behavior,and to form a detailed description of the experience of nursing service quality management,and provide a theoretical reference for the practice of institutional old-age management.Methods According to the principle of maximum variation strategy,11 managers from 8 public,private and enterprise groups in Taizhou,Wenling,Ningbo and Wuxi were selected by using the method of descriptive phenomenology,and the aim sampling method was used to conduct face-to-face semi-structured in-depth interviews with 1 1 nursing service quality managers in 8 public,private and enterprise groups of the novel type of medical care and nursing institutions in Taizhou,Wenling,Ningbo and Wuxi.All the interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim into Word manuscripts,supplemented by interview notes,reflective diaries and other materials,and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi seven-step analysis until the subject was saturated.Results Based on the analysis of the management experience of 11 managers,the five themes and ten subthemes of nursing service quality management experience in medical and nursing institutions are formed:①attach importance to the role of service quality assessment standards(quality assessment promotes nursing service progress and flexibly implement standards),②seek social support to improve service quality(public welfare activities enter pension institutions,people with knowledge and love enter pension institutions);③transmitting the culture of providing for the aged with the theme of human care(all for the elderly,doing a good job of tranquillity and nursing);④doing a good job of negative emotion management(paying attention to negative emotion and interfering with negative emotion);⑤facing management problems(shortage of nursing staff and difficulty in carrying out innovative nursing service items).Conclusion The assessment of nursing service quality,the support of society,the transmission of old-age culture with care as the theme and the management of negative emotion play an important role in the management of nursing service quality in medical and nursing institutions.At the same time,managers are also facing some difficult problems.It is necessary to pay attention to the shortage of old-age nursing staff,the instability of old-age nursing staff and other factors,so as to improve the management ability and comprehensive quality of managers.We will further improve the quality of nursing services in institutions for the aged.
