Effect Of Elastic Fibers And Matrix Metalloproteinase(MMP-2)on Varicose Great Saphenous Vein

Objective:To observe the expression level of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP-2)in varicose veins of great saphenous vein and the ultrastructural changes of elastic fibers in varicose veins,and to explore the relationship between MMP-2 and elastic fibers and the occurrence and development of great saphenous vein.Methods: 40 cases of varicose great saphenous vein and 40 cases of normal control were collected.Results: the expression of MMP-2 in varicose veins was positive.Conclusion: the changesin the elastic fiber structure of the varicose vein wall lead to the obvious decrease of its elasticity and the positive expression of MMP-2 in the varicose vein wall leads to the inflammation of venous intima,which is an important component of the occurrence and development of the varicose vein...
