The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of added garlic polysaccharides on growth performance, antioxidant properties, immune function, blood biochemical indexes and intestinal tract of egg-laying chicks.A one-way completely randomized design was chosen for the experiment.One-day-old Hyland brown chicks were weighed and recorded, and healthy chicks of similar weight were randomly divided into 6 groups of 100 chicks each, totaling 600 chicks. Each group was supplemented with 0g/kg,1.0g/kg,1.5g/kg,2.0g/kg,2.5g/kg and3.0g/kg of garlic polysaccharide in the basal diet. The test period was 6 weeks. The experimental results showed that the addition of garlic polysaccharide to the feed of egg chicks had a positive effect on the egg chick organism. In addition to the one-way ANOVA,several indicators were analyzed by orthogonal polynomials, and compared to the control group,it was concluded thatIn terms of growth performance: the dead rate of chicks at doses of 1.0,1.5 and2.0 g/kg was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Antioxidant performance: Significantly increased serum glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)content and decreased malondialdehyde(MDA)content in the body(P<0.05),with the best antioxidant performance at1.5g/kg dose.Immune function: Garlic polysaccharide significantly increased the sixth week bursal index and thymus index(P<0.05),but had no significant effect on spleen index(P>0.05),significantly increased serum immunoprotein Ig G content(P<0.05),significantly decreased serum C-reactive protein content(P<0.05),and reduced the damage caused by stress.Blood biochemical indexes: serum uric acid was significantly reduced in chicks at a dose of 3.0 g/kg(P<0.05),while the differences in triglycerides, urea nitrogen and cholesterol were not significant(P>0.05).Intestinal morphology: The height of duodenal villi was significantly increased at 1.0g/kg dose in the sixth week, and the depth of jejunal crypt and jejunal villi ratio were reduced at 1.0,1.5 and 2.0g/kg doses(P<0.05).Intestinal flora: In the sixth week, the relative abundance level content of Aspergillus phylum in the cecum was significantly reduced at 1.0,1.5 and 2.0 g/kg doses in the phylum level(P<0.05).At the genus level, all experimental groups with garlic polysaccharide addition significantly reduced the relative abundance levels of B.faecalis spp.in the cecum(P<0.05),significantly reduced the relative abundance levels of B.aliens spp.at 1.5-3.0 g/kg doses(P<0.05),and increased the relative abundance levels of B.tremella spp.in the cecum at 1.0 and 2.0 g/kg doses(P<0.05).In conclusion, garlic polysaccharide has improved the growth performance, antioxidant performance, immune function, blood biochemical index and intestinal tract of Hyland brown egg chicks, and it is recommended to apply the additive amount of 1.5g/kg in actual production.
