The animal husbandry production mode is a livelihood choice explored by herdsmen in the grassland ecological environment in Inner Mongolia,and it is also a major industry supporting the economic development of Inner Mongolia.However,in recent years,a series of problems such as the general lack of labor in pastoral areas,the limited grazing space and time of existing grass pastures,and the pressure of ecological protection have led to increasing grazing costs for herdsmen,and the settlement of animal husbandry is facing severe livelihood challenges.In the system,policy and market environment,how herdsmen can reduce the production cost of animal husbandry through the adjustment of operation methods,and realize the coordination between animal husbandry and market economy,population resources,and ecological protection has not only become a livelihood problem that herdsmen need to explore and solve urgently,but also a relationship issue.People’s livelihood issues in the process of national rural revitalization.Based on the theory of the three elements of "people,animals,and grass",this paper screens out 15 herdsmen in the area of Hanggin Banner X Gacha in Ordos City,and conducts interviews with them through three types of herd management methods:entrusting grazing,leasing pastures,and hiring labor.Detailed field data were obtained.And on this basis,use the theory of livelihood capital to analyze the influencing factors of the interviewed herdsmen changing their herd management methods.The research content of the thesis is divided into four parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction part is based on the introduction of the topic background and the significance of the topic,and puts forward the key issues to be studied and solved in this paper;sorts out the relevant literature and its domestic and foreign research results,and lays a theoretical foundation for this research;designs the research methods used in this paper;The first is a brief introduction to the research location of this paper from the aspects of physical geography,history of administrative unit establishment,population profile,traditional animal husbandry production methods,grass pasture related policies and projects,etc.The second is to sort out the evolution of herders’ micro-grazing management methods under the national macro-grassland management system since the founding of New China,and lay a historical frontier foundation for the research on existing herd management methods.The third is to introduce in detail the actual operation mechanism of several herd management methods that have emerged since the implementation of the "grazing prohibition" policy.The fourth is to use the livelihood capital theory to show the living capital stock and variables of the interviewed herdsmen,and on this basis to analyze the influencing factors of their adoption of the three herd management methods.The final conclusion is to summarize and reflect on the research of this paper.
