Northeast black soil region is an important grain producing area in China.Protecting the black soil and stabilizing China’s "grain bag" is crucial.Heilongjiang Province has the largest area of black soil farmland, accounting for 56.1% of the typical black soil area in Northeast China. Its grain output accounts for one ninth of China’s total grain output, and its commodity volume and transfer volume are both the first in the country. In 2020,Heilongjiang Province ranked first in terms of grain production in the country, with corn production of 36.466 million tons, accounting for 14% of the total corn production in the country. However, the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides,as well as unreasonable farming practices, have led to a continuous decline in the quality of black soil. Therefore,it is of great significance to protect black soil farmland and establish a "granary" in China.Corn growers are the main producers of agriculture and play an important role in the protection of black land. This article takes corn growers in Heilongjiang Province as the research object, collects 298 valid data from 6 municipal areas in the eastern, central, and western regions of Heilongjiang Province, constructs a model, and determines the influencing factors of black land protection and utilization technology adoption behavior.Descriptive statistical analysis is conducted from three aspects:personal characteristics, family management characteristics, and cognitive characteristics.Based on agricultural sustainable development theory, ecological economic theory, and farmer behavior theory, combined with the results of descriptive statistical analysis,15 indicators such as age, education level, and cultivated land quality were finally selected for empirical analysis using a binary probit regression model. The results of the study showed that 11 indicators, including the education level of corn farmers, whether they are village cadres, the number of workers planting corn, the planting area, the quality of cultivated land, whether they have participated in training, whether they believe it is important to strengthen black land protection, whether they understand the black land protection policy, whether there are subsidies for grain and soybean rotation, whether there are subsidies for returning straw to the field, and whether there are subsidies for less tillage and no tillage, have passed the significance test,The quality of cultivated land of corn growers has a negative impact on their adoption behavior. The education level of corn growers, whether they are village cadres, the number of workers planting corn, the planting area, whether they have participated in training, whether they believe it is important to strengthen the protection of black land, whether they understand the black land protection policy, whether there is a subsidy for grain and soybean rotation, whether there is a subsidy for returning straw to the field, and whether there is a subsidy for less tillage and no tillage have a positive impact on their adoption behavior,Among them, the education level of corn growers, whether they have subsidies for returning straw to the field, subsidies for less tillage and no tillage, and subsidies for grain and soybean rotation are significant at the level of 1%,which are the underlying factors for their adoption of black land protection and utilization technologies.Based on the above analysis results, this article proposes policy recommendations to promote the adoption of black land protection and utilization technology by corn farmers in Heilongjiang Province from three aspects: improving the promotion system of black land protection and utilization technology, improving the implementation of relevant policies for black land protection and utilization, and increasing the publicity efforts for black land protection and utilization technology.
