Jiangxi Wuyishan National Nature Reserve is located in the northwest slope of the northern section of the Wuyi Mountain Range,in the county of Yanshan,Jiangxi Province,at latitude 27°48′11″~28°00′35″ north and longitude 117°39′30″~117°55′47″ east. The total area of the reserve is 16,007 hectares,of which the core area is 4,835 hectares, accounting for 30.2% of the protected area;the buffer area is 2,021 hectares, accounting for 12.6% of the protected area;and the experimental area is 9,151 hectares. It is connected to the Wuyishan National Nature Reserve in Fujian to the south-east,and together they form a complete Central Subtropical Mesic Forest Ecosystem, which is a very important natural gene pool for biological species. In order to determine the number of plant species, endemic plants and rare and endangered plants in the Jiangxi Wuyishan National Nature Reserve and their geographical distribution for better management and conservation, field surveys were carried out several times with the support of relevant projects, with 1,971 specimens collected and over 30,000 photographs taken.Based on the combination of field survey and historical data search, indoor specimen compilation and identification,we have completed the inventory of plant species diversity in the reserve, zonal geographic analysis, analysis and assessment of the status of rare and endangered plants in the reserve and conservation strategies, the results of the study are as follows:(1)There are 1,309 species of wild vascular plants in 162 families and 603 genera in Jiangxi Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, accounting for 75.70%,48.12% and 27.49% of the total number of families, genera and species of wild vascular plants in Jiangxi Province respectively.Among them, there are 184 species of 66 genera in 21 families of ferns,1,125 species of 537 genera in 141 families of seed plants,13 species of 10 genera in 6 families of gymnosperms,152 species of 87 genera in 14 families of monocotyledons, and 960 species of 440 genera in 121 families of dicotyledons.(2)There are 21 families,66 genera and 184 species of ferns in the reserve, accounting for 60%,65.05% and 41.44% of the total number of families, genera and species of ferns in Jiangxi Province respectively. The six families of ferns, namely, the fern family, the fern family, the fern family, the fern family, the fern family and the fern family, are the dominant families of ferns in the region, containing 129 species, accounting for 70.11% of the total number of species of ferns in the region;the 66 genera of ferns lack dominant genera and are dominated by single species genera and oligotypes;the analysis of the families and genera of ferns found that the main regional distribution components of the families and genera of ferns in the region are Tropical, subtropical and cosmopolitan distribution, accompanied by a small amount of temperate distribution.(3)There are 1,125 species of 141 families and 537 genera of wild seed plants in the reserve, including 6 families and 10 genera and 13 species of gymnosperms and 135 families and 527 genera and 1,112 species of angiosperms, which shows that there are fewer species of gymnosperms in the region;among them,Rosaceae,Asteraceae,Salicaceae,Aceraceae,Hollyaceae,Weigela,Rhododendron,Crustaceae,Euphorbiaceae,Magnoliaceae and Muxaceae are the main families in the region;while the seed plants in the region The genus of seed plants in the region lacks dominant genera and is mainly monospecific and oligospecific;the analysis of the family and genus lineage of seed plants in the region reveals that the composition of the seed plant lineage in the region is mainly tropical and subtropical, with obvious tropical and subtropical nature, interspersed with world distribution and temperate components.(4)A comparison of the flora of the reserve with that of neighbouring areas reveals that the genus coefficient of the reserve is the largest, indicating that the ecological environment is more intensely variable than that of the other five areas and more suitable for plant evolution and variation;when comparing the similarity coefficients with neighbouring areas,it is found that the seed flora of the reserve is closely related to that of the Sunhuang Mountains in Dong’an,Hunan, the Wugong Mountains in Jiangxi and the Tianmu Mountains in Zhejiang, all of which are predominantly tropical and subtropical, with temperate components occupying an important position, while differing from the seed flora of the Wanzhao Mountains in Hubei and the Jinfo Mountains in Chongqing, which are not so closely related.(5)There are a total of one family,18 genera and 363 species endemic to China in the reserve. When the endemic species distribution area statistics were conducted,it was found that the reserve is closely related to these regions of eastern, southern, central and southwestern China, and relatively few species are distributed in northern China, but it also shows that the plants in the reserve intersect from north to south.(6)There are 139 species of rare and endangered plants in 53 families and 99 genera in the reserve, including 2 families and 3 genera and 4 species of ferns,5 families and 7 genera and 9 species of gymnosperms, and 46 families and 89 genera and 126 species of angiosperms.Among these 139 rare and endangered plants,126 species belong to national or provincial protection, while the remaining 5 and 8 species are endemic to Jiangxi and Wuyishan respectively. The quantitative analysis and evaluation of the 139 rare and endangered plant species for priority protection shows that there are 29 species of first-class priority plants,43 species of second-class priority plants and 67 species of third-class priority plants, which differ greatly from the national or provincial protection levels,so when we study the rare and endangered plants in different regions,we need to make adjustments according to the actual situation.(7)According to the invasion level delineated in the List of Invasive Alien Plants in China, the invasion level is classified as 4.A total of 16 species of invasive alien species have been surveyed in the reserve, divided into 7 species at level 1,5 species at level 2,1 specie at level 3,and 3 species at level 4 based on intrusion level and the management of the reserve should draw attention to them.(8)The plant resources in the protected area are relatively abundant and have enormous development potential, requiring reasonable utilization and development, including medicinal plant resources, edible plant resources, ornamental plant resources, and industrial plant resources.Among them, ornamental plant resources include flower, fruit, leaf, stem, and plant shaped plant resources;Industrial plant resources include wood plant resources, fiber plant resources, tanning plant resources, spice plant resources, industrial oil plant resources, gum plant resources, and dye plant resources.
