| The waste of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)residues has increased. It is difficult to utilize the organic matter resources in the common treatment methods, which causes environmental pollution.Aerobic composting is a mature treatment technology that can make full use of organic waste resources, form an agricultural cycle and reduce environmental pollution.TCM residues are rich in organic matter resources and can condition the compost. Therefore, this paper conducts research on the use of TCM residues for conditioning food waste composting. In this study, the TCM residue of Jiuzhitang Liuweidihuangwan was added to food waste composting to explore its feasibility and the best proportion of addition. The results showed that the appropriate addition of TCM residues could improve the speed and degree of compost humification.Adding 10% TCM residue has the highest food waste composting efficiency and the most stable composting product. The highest temperature of this treatment was 60.5 °C,the thermophilic phase was maintained for 8 days, the organic matter degradation rate was increased by 16.2%,and the seed germination index was 15.7%higher than that of the control group. The effects of TCM residue on microbial communities were investigated using bioinformatics technology. It can be found that the TCM residue increased the abundance and diversity of microbial communities in compost products. It also promoted Bacillus and Sporomusa to be the dominant bacteria in the thermophilic phase. Therefore, the degradation of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin by bacterial communities was enhanced during thermophilic phase.Microbial community succession was obvious in different periods of compost.Total organic matter and total nitrogen were the main factors driving the succession of microbial communities. The effect of the compost product added with TCM residues was further studied to analyze the effects of different application rates on soil and brassica chinensis. The results show that the compost product could improve the alkaline soil, improve the yield and quality of brassica chinensis, and the effect is better than the commercial organic fertilizer. The optimum addition rate of compost products was 10%.,which could increase soil organic matter by 12.6 times, total nitrogen by 5.7 times, and total phosphorus by 1.7 times.Compared with the control group, the yield of brassica chinensis increased by 49.4%,and the total chlorophyll content was the highest(2.06 mg/g).To sum up,this paper optimizes the conditions of Jiuzhitang Liuweidihuangwan for kitchen waste, explores the influence on the microbial community, and verifies the actual effect of composting products, which can provide a new approach and theoretical basis for the resource utilization of TCM residues and the optimization of food waste composting process. There are 29 figures,8 tables and 127 references. |
