This study used the S3(female)line of high-quality broiler chickens cultivated by Jiangsu Poultry Research Institute as the experimental material, and used a combination of individual and family selection methods to select 12 production performance indicators related to growth(10 weeks of body weight,BW10)and reproduction(start of production age,AFE;start of production weight,BWFE;300day old egg production,NE300,etc.)for 5 generations. The relevant phenotype and pedigree data of 3150 chickens were recorded,Based on the best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)and genome best linear unbiased prediction(GBLUP)methods, the genetic parameters of relevant production performance indicators were estimated using ASReml4.1 software, and their breeding progress was analyzed to provide scientific reference for the subsequent breeding of S3 strain.Experiment 1:Genetic parameter estimation of performance indicators related to growth and reproductive traits in S3 line. The heritability of seven production performance indicators,BW10,AFE and NE300,was estimated by the conventional BLUP method;(1)The heritability of each character ranged from 0.24 to 0.47,and the heritability of 300 day old egg weight(EW300)was the highest(0.47),belonging to high heritability; The heritability of BW10,AFE,BWFE,EWFE,BW300 and NE300 were all medium heritability,0.35,0.26,0.36,0.24,0.38 and 0.32,respectively.(2)BW10 is positively correlated with BWFE,EWFE,BW300,NE300,and negatively correlated with AFE;AFE is negatively correlated with BWFE and NE300;BWFE is positively correlated with EWFE,BW300,EW300,and NE300.(3)Based on the GBLUP method, the genetic parameters of the 12 th generation core breeding population BW10,BWFE,AFE,EWFE were estimated, and the heritability of each character was between 0.06 and 0.64.(4)The comparative analysis of genetic parameters of production performance indicators estimated by BLUP and GBLUP shows that except for EWFE,BW10,AFE and BWFE heritability estimated by BLUP are lower than those estimated by GBLUP;BW10 is positively correlated with BWFE,EWFE,and negatively correlated with AFE,consistent with the results estimated by GBLUP.Experiment 2 : Analysis of the Breeding Effect of Growth and Reproductive Traits in S3 Line.Analysis of the breeding effects of growth and reproductive traits in the eighth to twelfth generations(G8 to G12)of the S3 line, the results show that:;(1)During the breeding process of five generations, significant progress was made in the G8 to G10 generations, while good progress was made in the G11 to G12 generations;Except for AFE,the breeding values and phenotypic values of other traits tend to be consistent;(2)Compared with the G8 generation, the performance indicators related to growth and reproductive traits in the G12 generation have made certain progress in both phenotypic and breeding values. The phenotypic values of growth traits BW10 for male and female chickens have increased by 15.68% and 5.06% respectively, and the breeding values have increased by 2.90 and 2.70 respectively; The phenotypic values of BW300 male and female chickens increased by 8.93% and 2.13%respectively,and the breeding values increased by 3.70 and 1.80 respectively; The AFE phenotype value of reproductive traits decreased by 2.10%,and the breeding value increased by 0.33;The BWFE phenotype value increased by 1.19%,and the breeding value increased by 2.16;The EWFE phenotype value increased by 2.70%,and the breeding value increased by 0.12;The phenotype value of NE300 increased by 4.89%,and the breeding value increased by 0.66.(3)In terms of purification of chicken white dysentery and chicken leukemia, chicken leukemia decreased by 1.77%from 2.37% in the G8 generation to 0.60% in the G12 generation, decreased from1.30% to 0.20% in the secondary detection of roosters, and decreased from 0.80% to0.10% in hens; The positive rate of G8 generation roosters with chicken dysentery is13.20%,while the positive rate of hens is 11.20%;By the G12 generation, the positive rate of male chickens with chicken dysentery has decreased to 0.80%,while the positive rate of female chickens has decreased to 0.60%;The secondary detection showed that the purification effect of roosters decreased from 7.10% to 0.40%,and hens decreased from 6.20% to 0.30%.In summary, using a combination of individual selection and family selection methods, significant genetic progress has been achieved in performance indicators related to growth and reproductive traits.By breeding at the age of 10 weeks, the later growth performance and reproductive performance can be improved, which also provides a scientific reference for the subsequent breeding of the S3 line.
