Effects Of Chinese Herbal Medicine On Growth,Immune Function And Meat Quality Of Minbei Black-White Pig

In this study,a total of 120 weaned piglets were randomly divided into four groups,including the control group（basal diet）,Test Group 1（basal diet+0.2%level of compound Chinese herbal medicine additives（CHMA））,Test Group 2（basal diet+0.4%level of CHMA）and Test Group 3（basal diet+0.6%level of CHMA）.This project aim at investigating different levels of CHMA affetcs growth performance,immune function and pork quality of Minbei black-white piglets.The results are as follows:1.The effects of CHMA on growth performance of piglets:Compared with the control group,the daily weight gain of Test Group 1,Test Group 2,and Test Group 3 were increased respectively by6.08%（P<0.01）,22.37%（P<0.01）,and 20.31%（P<0.01）;the difference between the Test Group 2 and Test Group 3 was no significant difference（P>0.05）.Compared with the control group,the average daily intake of Test Group 2 and Test Group 3 were increased respectively by 14.78%（P<0.01）and 13.30%（P<0.01）;Test Group 1 was no significant difference（P>0.05）,but got a increased trend;the difference between the Test Group 2 and Test Group 3 was no significant difference（P>0.05）.In terms of feed gain ratio,there was no significant difference between the Test Group 1 and the control group（P>0.05）,but a significant increase between the Test Group 2 and control group（P<0.05）,and the Test Group3 and control group（P<0.05）.No significant difference between the Test Group 1 and Test Group 3(P>0.05and Test Group 2 and Test Group 3（P>0.05）were witnessed.In addition,compared with the control group,the diarrhea rate of the CHMA Groups were decreased,and the Test Group 2 and Test Group 3 were lower than the control group（P<0.05）.2.The effects of CHMA on immune function of piglets:Compared with the control group,the differences in serum total protein,serum albumin,serum globulin,and IgA of the CHMA Groups pigs were no significant（P>0.05）,but these indexes among the three groups were increased with the arise of CHMA level.Compared with the control group,the level of IgG in the Test Group 2 and the Test Group 3 were increased dramatically by 5.10%（P<0.05）and 9.85%（P<0.05）,respectively.The level of IgG in the Test Group 3 increased by11.07%（P<0.05）relative to the Test Group 1.Compared with the control group,The level of IgM in the Test Group 2 and the Test Group 3 were increased respectively by 7.63%（P<0.05）and 13.36%（P<0.05）.The level of IgM in the Test Group 3 increased by 15.12%（P<0.05）compared to the Test Group 1.3.The effects of CHMA on pork quality of pig:Compared with the control group,the pH₁and tenderness were increased but no significant difference in the Test Group 2 and the Test Group 3（P>0.05）;there were no significant difference in contents of meat color,marble texture,and cooked meat rate among different groups（P>0.05）.The pH₂of Test Group 2 and Test Group 3 were increased respectively by 1.94%（P<0.05）and 2.11%（P<0.05）;the water loss rates of the Test Group 2 and the Test Group 3 were increased respectively by10.95%（P<0.05）and13.73%（P<0.05）.In summary,the following conclusions can be drawn:（1）Both 0.4%and 0.6%of the additive doses of the CHMA significantly improved the growth performance of Minbei black-white piglets,and moreover the 0.4%additive dose might be the best.（2）The compound CHMA added in the basal diet of piglets has enhanced the immune function and prevented disease in Minbei black-white piglets.（3）Both 0.4%and 0.6%of the compound CHMA added in the basal diet of piglets have improved the pH₂and water loss rate.Adding 0.6%level of CHMA is better than the other doses.The compound CHMA plays a beneficial role on the improvement of the meat quality of Minbei black-white pig.
