| Monochamus alternatus is a primary vector of the pinewood nematode. It is important to control Monochamus alternatus for pine wood nematode disease.Based on the push-pull strategy proposed by Australian scientist Pyke in 1987,the paper amis to study the behavioral management of Monochamus alternatus, and to find out the repellent. In this paper,14 kinds of semiochemicals which has been identified are selected from the non-host plant and Monochamus alternatus, which are 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol、Lemon eucalyptus、Nonanal、4-Allylanisole、(Z)-3-hexen-1-ol、(E)-2-hexen-1-ol、3-octanol、trans-2-hexanal、Salicylaldehyde、benzyl alcohol、benzaldehyde、hexanal、1-hexanol and methyl salicylate. These fourteen kinds of semiochemicals are used for trapping experiment,EAG antenna potential experiment to feeding choosing behavioral experiment, and attempting to select the favorable repellent semiochemical for Monochamus alternatus. The electroannogram(EAG)techniques proved that both female and male adult Monochamus alternatus had strong EAG responses to benzaldehyde, which was believed to be the strongest response among 14 semiochemicals. As for gender characters, the EAG response of adult females to salicylaldehyde was the weakest among the 14 semiochemicals,as well as the methyl salicylate for male adults. The feeding experiments confirmed that, the adult Monochamus alternatus fed on the branches of both experimental group and control group, but it was found in the final feeding rate statistics, the adult Monochamus alternatus picked their branches under the interference of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol only accounted for 25%.Further analysis showed 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol had antifeedng effect upon both male and female adult Monochamus alternatus through the comparison between male and female adults’ feeding rate of experimental group. The field trapping experiments certified that there was no significant difference between male and female adult Monochamus alternatus on the behavioral responses to these 14 experimental agents.4-Allylanisole,Trans-2-hexenol and 1-hexanol had a strong repellent function, cutting down more than 40%effectiveness for trapping.Trans-2-hexenol could reduce more than 50%effectiveness,which was the stongest semiochemicals among them.In addition,we found that salicylaldehyde and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol were significantly different from other semiochemicals, which attracted more male and female adult Monochamus alternatus. In the future, the research on repellents of Monochamus alternatus will promote the realistic research and implementation of "PUSH-PULL" strategy of Monochamus alternatus greatly, which has important research significance on the research of behavioral regulation of Monochamus alternatus. |
