China's AR children's book publishing originated in 2013,and since 2016 China began to introduce corresponding policies for the development of AR/VR technology.With the increasing development of media convergence,the children's book publishing industry is in urgent need of a new development direction to adapt to the changes in digital publishing,and the fun,interactive and immersive presentation of AR technology began to be sought after by major publishing houses,and AR children's book publishing began to get on the right track.The field of children's book publishing is in full swing.However,the development stagnated after 2018,and until 2022,AR children's book publishing development is still unable to break through the existing bottleneck.With the long-term development,the drawbacks of AR children's books have also been revealed,mainly in product design in terms of lack of core technology,poor interaction design and poor immersive reading experience;in content in terms of lack of creativity in content and poor connection between technology and content;in the market in terms of poor overall marketing model and high cost and price.This paper argues that the application of AR technology in children's book publishing has brought changes to children's books in three aspects:firstly,in terms of design,the application of AR technology has injected two characteristics of immersion and interactivity into children's books,enriching children's multiple reading experiences and enhancing the interaction between children's readers and children's books;secondly,in terms of content,AR technology has awakened the traditional and old children's book content,enhanced children's readers' participation in the content and allowed Thirdly,in terms of the market,it keeps pace with the times,conforms to the development of the digital publishing market,expands the new field of children's book publishing and develops the blue ocean of children's book publishing.This thesis starts from three aspects: product design,content and market,and systematically analyses the current situation,development issues and future outlook of AR children's books in China,which is divided into four sections.The first chapter systematically elaborates on the overall development background and research significance of AR children's books,and defines the concept of AR children's books,which will enable the next data aggregation and analysis of the development of AR children's books to delineate a standardised research scope and lay the foundation for the research in the next three chapters;the second chapter starts from the whole and the parts,and focuses on the current situation of AR children's book publishing in the form of charts and data,while the third and fourth chapters Chapters 3 and 4 focus on the three major aspects of product design,content and market,and propose problems and corresponding development countermeasures for AR children's books after the analysis of the current situation.
