Memory Writing Of Female Body Modification In Digital Platform

Pursuit of physical beauty has never stopped since ancient society to contemporary society.The development and changes of body are influenced by social culture and power discipline for ages.In contemporary society,body as visual symbols produced by visual media influence people's understanding of body with unified and regulated beautiful body images in consumer society,making body become a controversial issue.The invention of plastic surgery polarized people's pursuit of body and physical beauty even more.Through technical means,people can reconstruct their bodies to make them match with the aesthetic requirements of others or society.With the commercialization of plastic surgery technology,commercial plastic surgery occupies the mainstream discourse,enters the public's vision and drives women to transform their bodies.For women who are the subject to body modification,the process of body modification by technology is bound to be accompanied with physical pain and risk,while the topic of plastic surgery becomes a private issue in shadow,plastic surgery as a technical mean,is regarded as deceptive and unethical behavior.The capital market and patriarchy set excessive aesthetic requirements and standards for the female body,while the resulting experiences and related memories are repressed and denied.In this paper,the body modification memory of female is regard as three progressive memory dimensions of decision-making,surgical modification and repair,and postoperative experience.Firstly,the key words related to plastic surgery in Xiaohongshu online community were collected,screened and summarized.The posts related to plastic surgery under keywords category of Xiaohongshu online community were collected,matched and classified according to the three dimensions.Secondly,analyze word frequency based on the collected data,show female concerns by word frequency graphs in order to clear related memory content,writing style and writing methods.Finally,methods of depth interview were used.This study invited representative memory writing subjects who are willing to accept the interview,in order to gain insight of plastic surgery related memory writing from female groups in Xiaohongshu and corroborate relevant conclusion.Combined with research materials and analysis results,this study explained how collective memory and individual memory were constructed during the process of body modification memory writing in Xiaohongshu platform,how did women re-construct and re-imagine themselves externally and internally after they initiatively accept the technological body transformation.So that this study may discuss the social and cultural context,power discipline and male gaze that women receive.
