The concept of virtual reality has aroused people's infinite reverie since it was proposed in the last century.The ultimate goal of virtual reality technology is to provide users with an immersive virtual scene roaming experience.After more than half a century of research,in recent years there has finally been a virtual reality device that can be generally accepted by consumers.On this basis,practitioners from all walks of life began to study whether virtual reality technology can bring innovation to the industry.It can be said that virtual reality technology has ushered in the best development period since its birth.But with the popularization of virtual reality technology,people are beginning to realize the immaturity of virtual reality technology at this stage.One of them is that the mismatch between the size of the virtual scene and the available size of the real scene will destroy the immersion of roaming.Nowadays,many researchers have proposed various solutions to this problem,among which redirection technology is a solution that has certain effects but still needs improvement.The reorientation technology based on artificial potential energy field studied in this paper is an improvement to the traditional reorientation technology.The contributions of this paper are summarized as follows:1.The explanation of the traditional reorientation algorithm under the artificial potential energy field method is proposed,which establishes a connection between the traditional reorientation algorithm and the artificial potential energy field method.2.The algorithm of "repulsion between site boundary and user" proposed by Eric R.Bachmann et al.is improved to "the force generated by the site on users".The center(or an open part of the venue)will create a gravitational force on the user so that the user's range of activities is concentrated as much as possible in the area that will not collide.3.Three concepts of "gravitational object","repulsive object" and "irrelevant object" are proposed.According to the different application environments of virtual scenes,objects in the virtual scene will have a certain redirection gain for users according to the needs of specific instances.Impact.4.An improved reset algorithm based on the artificial potential energy field method proposed in this paper is proposed.5.The algorithm proposed in this paper is compared with the traditional algorithm,and the relevant experimental data is analyzed,which proves the feasibility of the algorithm proposed in this paper and its advantages compared with the traditional redirection algorithm.
