With the rapid development of the further improvement of digital technology.Some new communication media such as mobile Apps,electronic magazines,and websites are widely sought after and concerned by the public,satisfying the audience in the new media era.The digital transformation of China's traditional science magazines has entered the second stage.The first stage is the early exploration stage of the transformation from the paper media to the new media.In this stage,the question of how to transform from the paper media to the new media,that is,from scratch,has always been a popular research topic.The digital transformation of paper media in China has entered the second stage.This stage is a turning point after the peak of early exploration.Science magazines have summarized many experiences and the transformation has been quite effective.However,there is still a big gap in comparison with the new media,and the development of science magazines has also entered a stagnant dilemma.This article discusses how to maximize the utility of digital technology,improve the quality of digital transformation products of popular science magazines,reflect on the causes of dilemmas,and explore effective solutions that are the focus of research.This article takes China's traditional science magazines which participate in the digital transformation and their competitors,namely new media,as the research objects.Using comparative research,content analysis,and interview methods,three research methods are used to comprehensively analyze the content,services,and company's operating strategies,branding and market positioning of products transformed through different channels.The first chapter of this article is an introduction.The second chapter selects two traditional science magazines,including the "Chinese National Geography" magazine and the "Nature History"magazine.Then,comprehensively sorts out their digital transformation development history and current situation,and respectively operates their departments with new media platforms analyze from the three levels of overall,content production and commercial operation.The third chapter discusses the reasons why traditional science magazines still have deficiencies in the digital transformation.This part includes three aspects:content production,business model and market positioning.The last chapter is to provide suggestions for the digital transformation of traditional science magazines.Learning the successful experience of the digital transformation of the "Chinese National Geography" magazine and the "Nature History" magazine.With the content of service,internal business model and brand positioning,this chapter also reflects on the dilemma of the digital transformation of traditional science magazines,hoping to explore effective solutions for the current dilemma of the digital transformation of traditional science magazines.
