Research On The News Report Of The Rear Area Of Anti-japanese War About The Young Companion(1937-1941)

In 1926,the Young Companion was launched in Shanghai.At the beginning of the publication,the content of the report was mostly urban fashion,celebrity anecdotes,and leisure and entertainment related content.In 1937,when the War of Resistance Against Japan broke out,the Young Companion shifted its reporting focus to domestic news and current events.The rich graphic materials and detailed content are precious historical materials for the study of the War of Resistance.Among them,there are a large number of reports about the rear area of the War of Resistance Against Japan.These graphic reports reflect the united military and civilians of the rear area and the active participation of the people in the rear area.In 1941,when the Pacific War broke out,the Young Companion ceased publication.This article takes the Young Companion from 1937 to 1941 on the image news report of the rear of the war as the research object,and uses its 84 reports(including 547 news pictures)as the research text,and discusses the pictorial by sorting out the content of the reports.How to record and mobilize the War of Resistance has become a high ground of public opinion for the propaganda of the War of Resistance.The research ideas of this paper are as follows:The first chapter summarizes the graphic news reports of the Young Companion about the rear of the war of resistance from 1937 to 1941.After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan,the editors of the Young Companion changed their editorial policy,focusing on serving the war,publishing articles on anti-Japanese and national salvation,and extensively soliciting news photography images across the country.After the Nationalist government moved the capital to Chongqing,the editors of the pictorial realized the special position of the Rear Area in the Anti-Japanese War and the founding of the country,and collected and published a large number of photojournalistic images about the Rear Area.This chapter mainly sorts out the sources of news images of the Young Companion about the anti-Japanese war rear area,and classifies the images according to themes as the basis for the study of image reports.The second chapter studies the graphic news reports of the Young Companion against the military and civilians in the rear of the war.Volunteers,student army,air force and ethnic minorities actively participated in the war of resistance and rushed to the front;all social strata supported the war of resistance through donations of labor forces.The people in the rear actively responded to the air strikes,adapting to wartime life in a difficult environment.The National Government provided wartime relief and social services,held mobilization ceremonies to encourage the people;while training recruits and delivering talents to the battlefield,it also provided comfort and assistance to the wounded soldiers and launched the Wounded Friends Movement;Song Meiling assisted the central government in wartime work and led women Join the ranks of the Anti-Japanese War and save the country and pay attention to the relief of children in need the Young Companion portrayed the image of the military and civilians united in the rear area and expressed the yearning for national independence and self-reliance.The third chapter studies the graphic news reports of the Young Companion on the wartime economic and transportation construction situation in the rear of the war against the war.The rear area,especially the accompanying capital Chongqing,has undertaken most of the factories relocated from the eastern region,forming a comprehensive industrial zone.Military factories and cotton spinning cooperatives stepped up production and ensured the supply of anti-war materials.Foreign sales such as bristles and tea were exchanged for foreign exchange,which was an important task for the anti-Japanese war and founding of the nation.The construction of the southwest communication line,especially the Myanmar-Burma Highway,played an irreplaceable role in supporting China's long-term war of resistance and winning victory in the war of resistance.The rear economy and
