Semiotic Analysis Of British Etiquette Culture In Downton Abbey

British etiquette culture has a long history.Because of its profound cultural heritage and rich cultural connotation,it occupies an important place in the world etiquette culture.Downton abbey is one of the representative works of British etiquette culture.Its exquisite etiquette cultural scenes,rich etiquette cultural elements and ups and downs of the plot lay a good foundation for the spread of the play in the world,so it has high research value.Based on Saussure's semiotic theory,this paper uses the methods of text analysis and case analysis to classify and analyze the contents of British etiquette culture in Downton Abbey.This paper divides British etiquette culture into four dimensions:British banquet etiquette culture,British social etiquette culture,British speech etiquette culture and British gentleman etiquette culture for semiotic analysis.From the perspective of critical research,this paper explores the image of British culture constructed in Downton Abbey and the profound connotation behind British etiquette culture,hoping to contribute to the spread of Chinese etiquette culture.There are five chapters in this paper: in the first chapter,after defining the key concept of British etiquette culture,the formation and historical development of British etiquette culture are sorted out according to the historical development context.The second chapter classifies the British etiquette culture in Downton Abbey into four dimensions: British banquet etiquette culture,British social etiquette culture,British speech etiquette culture and British gentleman etiquette culture.The third chapter analyzes the British etiquette culture from the perspective of semiotics.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the image of British etiquette culture in Downton Abbey.The last part is the enlightenment and reflection of the study of British etiquette culture in Downton Abbey.
