CAN bus is one of the most widely used open fieldbus.But the bandwidth and rate of CAN bus can not meet the current industrial and market demand,Can With Flexible Data Rate(CAN FD)bus has the characteristics of high speed,high bandwidth,high reliability and strong compatibility is gradually replacing the CAN bus.Using CAN FD bus requires a separate controller.Foreign research and development of CAN FD controller is ahead of domestic,there is no mature CAN FD controller in the domestic market,but many foreign companies have launched independent CAN FD controllers.This parper,based on mastering the key technology of CAN FD bus communication,complete teh design and implementation of CAN FD controller,is important to break the monopoly of foreign companies and get rid of the dependence of related technologies and core chips on foreign countries.This thesis focuses on the independent development of CAN FD bus controller to carry out the technical research and design implementation.Firstly,in-depth study on the functional characteristics and internal structure of foreign typical controller products MCP2517 FD and of international standard ISO11898-1:2015.after the study,a CAN FD bus automatic transmission delay compensation method is proposed,which makes the transmission delay compensation control transparent to the application and reduces the bit error and frame loss caused by the transmission delay.Secondly,using the structured design method,the thesis puts forward a kind of CAN FD bus controller microarchitecture,integrated flow control,bit timing,bit stuffing,bus arbitration and acceptance filtering,data validation and error handling which included in CAN FD bus communication protocol control function,and complete the design using Verilog HDL hardware description language.Finally,based on the simplified application scenario of CAN FD bus,a simulation test platform is built to verify the controller design.The simulation results show that the controller conforms to the standard and the functions are correct and meet the design expectations.The work of this thesis and the results obtained have laid a solid technical and design foundation for the follow-up CAN FD bus controller IP soft core engineering and the development of Asic chips,which is conducive to promoting the development of autonomous and controllable controller products and has practical value and application space.
