The rapid development of mobile communication technology and wireless access services jointly drive the evolution of mobile edge computing technology.A wireless communication network consists of heterogeneous nodes can provide a ubiquitous heterogeneous wireless access environment for mobile terminals(MTs).As WiFi networks are widely deployed and provide high transmission rates, using cellular-WiFi heterogeneous networks to manage limited mobile terminal computing resources and cellular mobile network communication resources becomes an effective solution to alleviate the stress of cellular networks. The computing and storage capabilities of WiFi access points can alleviate the network congestion problem caused by computing tasks offloading under high load in the cellular network, while effectively avoiding the repeated offloading of computing tasks. Thus,it will achieve cooperation between heterogeneous networks and MTs,so as to meet users' need for service quality and enhance the utility of the overall network system.Due to the lack of research related to the cooperative resource scheduling schemes in WiFi-cellular heterogeneous networks, this thesis focuses on the joint resource management in WiFi cooperative cellular heterogeneous access environment, and the main contributions are as follow:(1)A novel scheme of joint WiFi and cellular offloading is proposed to optimally reduce the latency and energy consumption of MTs in task processing.MTs with different channel access priorities are considered in the modeling, and a balance factor is introduced to flexibly adjust the minimization between the energy consumption of MT and the processing latency of its tasks. An iterative algorithm combining the linear programming with the Alternating Optimization technique is designed to efficiently solve the non-convex problem for computation tasks offloading decision. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that our scheme can largely improve the system performance, and the gain can be increased by 40%-70%on average.(2)A novel resource management scheme for joint task offloading and service caching in WiFi-cellular heterogeneous networks is proposed to minimize the task processing energy consumption of MTs.The limited computing and storage resource of the edge servers are considered as the constraints. In the scheme, wireless channel allocation is modeled to enhance the communication system's utility. An iterative algorithm based on the alternating optimization technique and branch-and-bound algorithm is designed to solve the mixed integer nonlinear programming problem. The numerical results demonstrate that this scheme can largely improve the system performance, and the energy consumption reduction of this scheme is 10.66%-26.47%higher than those of the reference works. The joint resource management technology of mobile edge computing in heterogeneous wireless access environment in this thesis has a significant improvement in MTs' task processing. The research results can provide theoretical references for related research in the field of mobile edge computing.
