Virtual reality technology has the advantage of high immersion.By wearing the Head Mounted Display,3D graphics display can be obtained in virtual reality applications.HMD,as a supplement and aid to system functions and equipment,is also the main source of immersion.Due to the mass production of consumer helmet display HMD in recent years,the cost of virtual reality equipment has decreased significantly.The birth of Oculus Rift is considered to bring vitality to the virtual reality industry.People are once again excited about being immersed in a computergenerated world.But the virtual reality equipment may still not be cheap enough for normal consumers.Google has launched a mobile terminalbased HMD——Cardboard,a virtual reality device made from paper boxes.Due to its extremely low cost,the potential has begun to show up.With the enrichment of third-party applications and resources,it has been already possible to apply in many scenarios.At present,virtual reality products can be applied with less theoretical guidance,and the interaction method based on mobile terminal HMD is very different from traditional virtual reality devices.Mobile terminal HMDs have the advantages of lightness and simplicity,but they have relatively large defects in the performance and maneuverability of the body.They still have the best observation effect better than the display,but the biggest feature of virtual reality products which is immersion and presence will decline in these HMDs.Thus,the related products appear some field experience difficulties,such as users easily distracted by the way of use,environment and duration.Based on this research background,in order to bring the good experience like the advanced virtual reality equipment to the mobile devices,this paper designs the presence of virtual reality works suitable HMD mobile terminals.At the beginning of the article,it defines the concept of virtual presence,and analyzes that virtual presence is composed of three levels:space,society and self.By clarifying and obtaining the perceptual characteristics of the user's sense of presence,combined with user interview methods,it is found that users may have some presence problems when using mobile terminal HMD to experience virtual reality products,and proposed the idea of simplifying interaction and guidance,reducing distraction factors and solving psychological confusion.Then,the design elements that affect the virtual presence are arranged,and the corresponding design elements are divided from three levels according to the characteristics of the mobile terminal HMD.Combined with the shortcomings of each level,the innovative design ideas and design strategies such as theme construction,spatial guidance,scene transition design,gaze interaction,role substitution,pre-reading guidance and so on are put forward.The correctness of the design ideas is verified by experiments.More mobile virtual reality products can be better designed to have a sense of presence,so that mobile terminal HMD can become more attractive alternatives to VR.At the end of the article,according to the design idea and design strategy obtained from the theoretical demonstration and the contrast experiment,the design practice of virtual reality popular science products for satellite quantum secure communication is carried out.Through the three experience evaluation methods of popular science effect,design satisfaction and presence measurement,the actual effect of design practice and the feasibility of design strategy are verified.
