In recent years,with the development of measurement technology and equipment,it is more convenient to obtain point cloud data.Its ability to express any surface shape is favored by people.Due to the complex shape of the object surface and scanning equipment and other reasons,scanning point cloud model will inevitably appear holes.Many scholars at home and abroad have put forward the algorithms of filling holes.But many algorithms are based on the grid model.Filling holes directly on the point cloud is not much.Thus,in this paper,we do research on filling holes directly on the point cloud.The main work focuses on the following aspects:(1)In order to solve the problem of the inconsistency of the existing neighborhood points of the hole and the hole boundary.We present a hole repairing method of three-dimensional point cloud model based on slicing.First,the model is divided into a series of slices.And then,the model slice is projected into a two-dimensional plane and get the points of set.Secondly,using B curve to fit the hole of the projection layer.Then resample points on the fitted curve to get the hole points of set of the projection layer.The repaired points of all the holes in the projection layer are combined in the three-dimensional space.Last the hole of the 3D model of point cloud is completed.(2)In order to solve the problem of maintaining sharp features of hole,we present a hole repairing method of three-dimensional point cloud model based on two-dimensio nal projection.Firstly,we obtain the hole boundary points based on the quadrant distri-bution of point cloud.And project the three-dimensional hole boundary lines to the two-dimensional plane using the method of preserving the edge length.Then get the dotted two-dimensional region and get two-dimensional filling points.Secondly,construct the hole surface according to the hole boundary points using the radial basis function inter-polation mapping technique.The radial basis function interpolation mapping technique is al filling points are reflected onto the surface of the structure.And finally the hole rep-airing is completed.Hole filling methods are designed and the related software is developed based on the component technology and software architecture.In our point cloud measurement,it has been applied in practice,which provides an effective support for the hole repairing of point cloud,and proves the validity of the methods.
