Country book fairs are the public cultural products and activities of China's rural areas.They have basic characteristics such as cultural and public characteristics.They generally have business characteristics such as single host,flexible exhibition methods and time,and priority of social benefits.Country book fairs provide scientific and cultural products for rural residents in the form of book display and trading,and public reading exchanges,enriching cultural life and meeting the requirements of their public cultural interests.In addition,the country book fairs also have the functions of balancing urban and rural public culture,optimizing the ecological environment of rural mass media culture,and helping to solve information pollution in rural communication in China.This article takes the rural culture revitalization strategy as the background of the times and focuses on the country book fair.First of all,based on the theory of public goods,this article starts from the exploration of concepts,features,classifications and functions,summarizes the concepts,development history and current situation of China's country book fairs,and discusses the development scale of China's country book fairs,the singularity of supply subjects,and the development characteristics such as improved infrastructure and diversified development models.Secondly,this article uses field survey interview method and questionnaire survey method to understand the participation and demand of rural residents in country book fairs in China.The study found that China's rural residents and society have good basic cultural conditions and basic cultural facilities,and they welcome and look forward to the country book fairs.This discovery supporting and answering the possibility and necessity of the existence and development of China's country book fairs.Finally,based on the above theoretical and practical research,this article points out the problems and deficiencies in China's country book fairs,such as imperfect incentives and regulatory policies,insufficient attention to operation and maintenance,lack of statistical data,solidification of rural communication models,and weakening of rural public product functions.In order to promote the future development of China's country book fairs,this article believes that we should learn from the successful experiences of typical book fairs at home and abroad,such as the National Book Fair,the U.S.mobile book cart,and the Frankfurt Book Fair.At the same time,this article also believes that policies and regulations related to country book fairs should be improved,a big statistical platform for country book fairs should be built,operation and maintenance of country book fairs should be strengthened,and new modes of country book fairs should be explored.
