Research On The Characteristic Services Of Public Libraries In Minority Autonomous Regions Of China ——Illustrated By The Case Of Yanbian Library

China has 56 ethnic groups,of which ethnic minorities account for about 8%.All ethnic minorities have unique characteristics and diverse cultural backgrounds.Besides,they are important parts of Chinese civilization.Although the proportion of ethnic minority readers in China's total population is very small in terms of population ratio,it has exceeded 100 million from the total number of minority readers.As an important social public cultural institution,the public library plays an extremely important role in the protection and inheritance of ethnic minority cultures.However,from the practice of public libraries in the ethnic autonomous areas,the services for ethnic minority are still difficult to meet the needs of minority readers who are showing more and more pluralism.Seeing from this,this study will be based on the literature reviews on the Characteristic Services for ethnic minority groups and combine with the IFLA Multicultural Service Guidelines 3^rd Edition as the preliminary theoretical framework.Through the website survey and the case study of Yanbian Library,the study focus on the current special resources and the services of public libraries in minority autonomous regions.The ethnic minority characteristic resources,minority ethnic services and the promotion and publicity ethnic minority cultural are summarized from the literature review.And the newly discovered library management are originated the website survey and Yanbian library case analysis.This study consists of five chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background,purpose,importance,research problems and steps,research methods and innovation points.The second chapter discusses the culture of ethnic minorities and the principles,objects and importance of the construction of characteristic resources and services of the library.The third chapter is the investigation of the overall situation of the development of the characteristic resources and services of public libraries in minority autonomous areas.The data collection was carried out by means of website surveys and telephone interviews,and the problems and deficiencies were found based on the survey results.The Yanbian Library is selected as a case sample in the forth chapter,which has the most outstanding characteristics and service construction achievements.The forth chapter analyzes the situation of the Korean language resources construction,the Korean characteristics services.The problems founded in this chapter further verified the problems and deficiencies founded in Chapter 3.The fifth chapter puts forward some perfect countermeasures for the problems and shortcomings in the construction and service of ethnic minority resources and services founded in the third and the fourth chapter.The sixth chapter summarizes the content of this study and the shortcomings of the research itself.
