History map is a tool that contains spatial and geographic elements and historical and humanistic information,which is beneficial to history classroom teaching.In the latest unified edition of high school history textbooks,as far as the compulsory part is concerned,the types and numbers of historical maps have been greatly enriched and improved.With the rapid development of information technology and the further deepening of the application of multimedia technology in the classroom,diversified types of historical maps will play a more full role in middle school history teaching.Historical maps can not only promote the implementation of core literacy,but also cultivate the formation of students' historical thinking.Therefore,teachers should actively explore ways to effectively use historical maps and guide students to use historical maps correctly.This article takes the history maps in the 2019 and 2007 editions of the compulsory high school history textbooks of the People's Education as the research object.Through the macro analysis and micro comparison of the history maps of the two editions of textbooks,the historical maps in the compulsory high school history textbooks are refined and summarized.New features.Compared with the 2007 version of the teaching material of the People's Education,the 2019 version of the textbook has made great improvements in the captions,legends,and annotations of historical maps.In the 2019 edition of the textbook,the direction of the captions of historical maps is clearer,the types of legends are further enriched and improved,and the legends and maps are more closely matched.At the same time,the effect of graphic and text coordination is remarkable,and the content of the map has been significantly improved and expanded.The new changes in the historical map of the unified edition textbook are inseparable from the requirements of the curriculum standards and the implementation of core literacy,which also puts forward higher requirements for the rational use of historical maps in history teaching.Comparing the two editions of textbooks and exploring the improvement and progress of the new textbooks will help clarify the important role of historical maps in teaching and provide inspiration and reference for the effective use of historical maps.
