Research On Teaching Strategies For Cultivating Number Sense In First-year Students

As one of the ten core concepts proposed by the compulsory education curriculum standards,number sense is the quality that should be cultivated in the compulsory education stage of mathematics courses,and it is also the implementation of morality education in the compulsory education stage of mathematics.Through literature analysis,it is found that most domestic scholars have conducted research on the number sense of primary school students,and there are few studies on middle school students,and most of them are qualitative analysis and few quantitative analysis.Based on these backgrounds,using literature research,test surveys,interviews and other research methods,specifically study the following two issues:Question 1: What is the status quo of the development of number sense among junior students?Question 2: How to teach number sense?The main results and conclusions of the research are:(1)The development of number sense in the first grade of junior high school students.1)There is no significant gender difference in the development of number sense among junior one student,which means that there is no need to distinguish between boys and girls in the development of number sense.2)There is a significant positive correlation between the degree of love for mathematics and the development of number sense.The reasons given by students who choose the degree of love for mathematics are mainly as follows:(1)Mathematics is interesting;(2)I like to be a teacher;(3)Mathematics is useful;(4)Mathematics is difficult or boring,and the calculations are cumbersome.3)Specific performance on the five elements of number sense:(1)performed better in the sense of numbers,most students are able to understand the meaning of the number of daily life;(2)Better performance in the representation of numbers,able to choose simpler strategies for correct representation of numbers in specific situations;(3)Poor performance in the relationship of numbers,and poor grasp of the size relationship of rational numbers;(4)Poor performance in number calculations,and fewer students can choose appropriate calculation strategies;(5)The worst performance in number estimation,lack of estimation awareness,and prefer to use mechanical calculations to solve problems.(2)Teaching strategies for cultivating the number sense the first grade of junior high school students:1)Intuitive perception and accumulation of experience.Number sense is the result of intuition and acquired learning.Students are more likely to activate number sense when facing problems in actual situations.Therefore,intuitive perception is the basis for cultivating number sense.Specifically,proceed according to the following three points:(1)Provide an intuitive situation and stimulate good perception.To provide students with a rich visual context for effective observation and thinking through the situation.(2)Various presentation methods to mobilize enthusiasm.Different presentation methods have different effects,and reasonable use can arouse students' enthusiasm in the classroom.(3)Focus on accumulation and include it in the knowledge base.Through summary and math weekly diary,help students accumulate experience.2)Activity experience,strengthen estimation.The estimation of the calculation result reflects the students' more comprehensive sense of number for mathematics objects.For the first-year students of junior high school,they show poor estimation consciousness,bias towards mechanical calculation,and lack the choice of strategies.It can be carried out according to the following two points:(1)Activity experience,strengthening Estimate awareness.Experience specific estimation problems in life,feel the importance of estimation,and strengthen the awareness of using estimation.(2)Increase training appropriately to strengthen estimation ability.3)Linguistic narration and rational thinking.The cultivation of number sense is from the intuitive perception of specific things,and then through continuous learning and accumulation,from perceptual knowledge to rational knowledge,and then the development of thinking.Language at this stage is an important factor in the development of students' thinking.Therefore,language training plays an important role in the cultivation of students' sense of number.
