The layoff that has been going on for 20 years is not only a policy incident but also a moral incident. From the beginning of the 1990 s to the beginning of this century, the restructuring of state-owned enterprises gradually eliminated the unit system in our country.Tens of millions of unit persons realized identity replacement and moved to the society, while also shaping their own unique moral memories.Laid-off workers,as one of the typical groups in the social transformation period, have important research value to explore their moral memory since they were laid off.In the theoretical sense, this study responds to the question of "how is morality possible" since Durkheim from the dimension of moral memory, and finds a reasonable explanation framework for the construction of moral memory;in the practical sense,laid-off moral memory provides a certain experience supporting for the moral changes of the current society, and helps to provide a reference for the problem of employee unemployment in the new period. In this study, the dimensions of moral memory are divided into two levels: collective and individual. The Depth interviews method is used to select the Y factory that was in policy bankruptcy in 1998 as a case. The study of oral memory explores the moral memory of the group of laid-off workers. This research focuses on three aspects of research issues: 1.What kind of moral memory does the social event of laid-off present at the collective level and the individual level;and 2.How did the collective and individual levels construct the moral memory.3.The historical construction and changes of "moral memory" of laid-off workers. This study found that the collective memory of the laid-off workers is a memory full of changes in the morality of the unit era,the morality of the working class and the social morality. The changes in moral memory are a typical epitome of social changes in our society since the 1990 s to the past two decades. In previous studies on the theme of morality, the discussion of moral subjects focused on the individual, exploring the individual's moral sense and behavior, and the social level of discussion was often biased towards culture, values and other fields. This study believes that the laid-off moral memory exists beyond the individual, and its shaping and maintenance are the result of the mutual influence of collective memory and individual memory, and have undergone "decollectivization" in the historical period since laid-off.The construction of the laid-off moral memory is embodied by the combination of collective dominance and individual reflection, the collective response to the first, and the individual's different reactions later. In the past, moral sociology regarded morality as the basis for maintaining social stability, but the dimension of the "decollectivization" of morality still needs more empirical research to support it.How is morality possible in an individual society? On the one hand, this research will pay attention to these issues from the perspective of moral sociology, and explore the collective moral memory and changes of the “laid-off workers”,a group experiencing hardships, even in its most difficult period. On the other hand, the current social changes and industrial transformation in China have not stopped, and the problem of new employee unemployment is imminent. This study analyzes the hardships and trials in their life trajectory through oral memory, and places problems for employees in the new period.Provide reference.
