The study of critical thinking ability plays a key role in the cultivation of College Students' ability. However, the connotation of critical thinking ability(skills)is very rich and the structure is very complex. Therefore,it is quite difficult to measure the critical thinking ability as a whole.Researchers believe that if we want to study the critical thinking ability of college students, one of the effective methods is to make a separate discussion on the measurement of each structural component based on the accurate understanding of the clear connotation of each structural component of the critical thinking ability, which is also the most important way to achieve the accurate measurement of the critical thinking ability.Identifying implicit hypothesis is a unique and important structural component of critical thinking. So far, there is no special research on what kind of connotation the recognition ability of implicit hypothesis has, what structural components it contains, and how to accurately measure the recognition ability of implicit hypothesis. Therefore,on the basis of revealing the connotation and structural components of implicit hypothesis recognition ability, this study attempts to develop a set of measurement table of implicit hypothesis recognition ability suitable for college students through empirical test, and then further analyzes the influencing factors of implicit hypothesis recognition ability of college students. The focus of this study is to develop the scale. After the formal scale was formed, the relationship between implicit hypothesis recognition ability, cognitive needs and egocentric tendencies was studied.First of all,on the basis of previous studies,we sorted out the existing and used to study the critical thinking skills measurement table and found the theoretical basis for the preparation of the scale. This study decided to take Robert Ennis' s definition of implicit hypothesis as the theoretical support and establish the initial items. At the same time,it organized peer students to discuss and revise the questionnaire to form the initial scale.Secondly,in the whole part of prediction and measurement,603 questionnaires,403 of which are valid, are collected in the specified time through the online classroom of college students. The formal questionnaire was determined after various index tests. This questionnaire is used to investigate the basic situation of College Students'recognition implicit hypothesis, and to explore the relationship between recognition implicit hypothesis ability, cognitive needs and self-centered bias. The final results of this study show that:(1)The self-designed scale has three dimensions,13 items and good reliability and validity.(2)The overall situation of College Students' implicit hypothesis recognition ability is good, and the individual differences are very large.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between cognitive needs and implicit hypothesis.(4)There was a significant negative correlation between egocentric bias and the ability to identify implicit hypotheses.(5)Egocentric bias plays a partial mediating role between cognitive needs and implicit hypothesis of recognition.
