Mental health not only affects people's life satisfaction and subjective well-being,but also is the basic condition for building a harmonious society and achieving sustained economic growth.College students are an important reserve of national human resources. The Party Central Committee and the State Council have repeatedly pointed out that strengthening and improving college students' mental health is of great significance to promote the transformation of economic growth mode and the construction of a harmonious society. However, the current situation of College Students' mental health in China is that nearly one third of them have different levels of mental health problems, which is not optimistic.Among the many factors that affect the mental health of college students,SES plays a key role.Family is an important living environment in the growth process of college students. It meets the most basic development needs of college students and has a continuous and cumulative impact on college students.Reviewing the existing literature, most of the existing studies discussed the relationship between family property resources, parents' education level, parents'occupation and college students' mental health respectively, and less used the family socio-economic status index(SES index),and the research subjects mainly focused on the poor college students, medical students and other special groups, staying at the level of correlation analysis. Therefore, how does the social and economic status of the family affect the mental health of college students has not yet reached a more accurate and applicable conclusion. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of family socio-economic status on College Students' mental health, and provide data reference and policy suggestions for improving college students' mental health Under this goal, this study selects 4267 freshmen from a university, and collects the relevant information of the students, including the basic characteristics, mental health status and family socio-economic status. This paper first describes the status quo of College Students' femily socio-economic status and mental health;secondly,it analyzes the impact of family socio-economic status on College Students' mental health by multiple regression analysis and tendency score matching(PSM),and at the same time,it tests the soundness;finally,it analyzes the impact of family socio-economic status on mental health of college students with different characteristics Whether there is difference in the impact.Through description and correlation analysis, the conclusions are as follows:First, there are significant differences in the socio-economic status of families among college students with different characteristics.Compared with ethnic minorities, rural Hukou and non only child students, the Han,urban hukou and only child students have significantly higher family socio-economic status.Second, the mental health level of college students in China has improved, but the overall situation is still not optimistic. The results show that compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity and depression are the main mental health problems faced by college students, and the detection rates are 23.55%,14.13%and 12.48%respectively.In addition, there are significant differences in mental health among different characteristics of college students.Third, the family socio-economic status is positively related to the mental health level of college students, and in the influence of family socio-economic status on College Students' mental health, family property resources play a decisive role. The results showed that for every standard deviation increased in SES index, the total score of SCL90 significantly decreased by 2.15 points, that is,the higher the social and economic status of family, the higher the mental health level of college students.Fourth, the influence of family socio-economic status on college students of different ages, genders and ethnic groups is different.Compared with 18-year-old students, boys and Han students, family socioeconomic status has a greater impact on mental health of students over 18 years old, girls and ethnic minority students. Finally, according to the conclusion of the study, combined with the existing literature, the current social and economic status of the family and the actual situation of College Students' mental health, the following suggestions are put forward:(1)to improve the national financial aid system,to provide material assistance to students, and on this basis,to strengthen psychological care;(2)to strengthen and improve the mental health education system and actively develop the mental health education The new way is to provide college students with more professional, more sustainable, more comprehensive and wider coverage of mental health counseling and counseling;(3)establish a scientific concept of family education, establish a modern family education model, parents should pay attention to improving their self-cultivation,more communication with their children, and create a good growth environment for their children.
